Great product and does the job.

I got this to replace my worn out, go-to travel bag. This is perfect as a personal item on flights! Lightweight but big enough for a laptop, sweatshirt, and more. I think Amazon said this was a frequently returned item, and I don't understand why that world be. I love it!

I love this bag. It's extremely plain, which is what I wanted. I have had my water bottle leak and only found out because I put my hand in the bag, instead of walking about with a bag that's suddenly soaked and dripping. I took my things out, shook out the bag, and patted it dry with a paper towel, and it was ready to go again. The external pockets are a great size and the handles are the ideal length for using this as either an oversized, casual purse or a shopping tote.

I purchased this exact bag in black from this same merchant 4 years ago in May 2011. I use it daily and almost never leave my home without it. The bag itself is VERY LIGHTWEIGHT BUT the material is BEEFY & EXTREMELY DURABLE. I always put my somewhat heavy, medium-sized purse in it along with anything else I need to take with me including my shoes during snow-boot season, my lunch, any text books or papers I may need, sunglasses, sweater, scarf, etc. It has traveled cross-country with me on many plane trips and it is only now starting to look a the slightest bit worn. Actually, only one specific part of the bag has worn out at this point and that is the outer mesh pocket which I have always used to carry a usually-full 24oz bottle of water in. The bottle which is slightly weighty in its usually full state finally broke through the bottom of the mesh pocket after about 3 and a half years of use. Other than that, the bag itself looks barely used after the past four years of full-time use. While it COULD DEFINITELY USE SOME INTERNAL SIDE WALL POCKETS FOR ORGANIZATION (at least 4 or six), unfortunately there aren't any. This makes the inside of the bag a big jumbled hole with all of the smaller stuff you carry falling to the bottom under much larger items. Therefore, small things are not easy to access without pulling out what's on top and things like papers get mangled and smaller items get squished. Honestly though, with a more durable outer mesh pocket and some interior wall pockets for organization this bag would rate 10 stars. All of the zippers and zipper pulls are extremely sturdy and high quality and the fabric has held up wonderfully with no tears or frays. The stitching on the bag has also proven really durable as mine is often stuffed to capacity with no problems, even where the straps attach. For me, the very best parts of the bag are the EASY ACCESS OUTER POCKETS which keep me organized and moving, the FULLY ZIPPERED TOP which is a must-have for me, and, the thing I couldn't find in any of the other at least 100 bags I looked at, SUFFICIENTLY LONG SHOULDER STRAPS. YAY!!!! ...My pet peeve is tote bags with short shoulder straps of less than 12 inches. I absolutely hate the discomfort and inconvenience and ridiculous look of having a large tote bag jammed up into my arm pit and not fitting over a heavy winter coat. The straps on this bag, with about 12.5 inches of drop, have always been long enough to comfortably accommodate whatever I'm wearing no matter how very full the bag may be. Best of all, these longer straps make it unnecessary for me to completely remove the entire bag from my shoulder to access what's inside. The most you have to do is drop one shoulder strap, if that, and unzip the bag to reach in and get what you want. With these longer straps, I never have to stop, take the bag off my shoulder, and look for a place to set it down somewhere in order to open it up and get inside. Since it was hard to be sure exactly what you're getting when you order online and since I desperately needed the 'right' tote for a pending trip, this was one of about 6 totes I ordered in the same order from Amazon at the same time. All of the others in my order (some more expensive, some the same price) were very disappointing with too short straps and cheap, flimsy material and I never used any of the other 5 bags I ordered. In fact, I either threw away or gave away all of the others. This bag was the clear winner by far for quality, capacity, comfort, and convenience. IT HAS SUFFICIENTLY LONG SHOULDER STRAPS AND EVEN A KEY LEASH ATTACHED TO THE INSIDE OF THE BAG. No more searching for your car keys at the airport parking lot or your house keys when returning from a long trip. I am ordering several more of these today. Though they are almost impossible to wear out, I want to have extras on hand. They are easily worth two or three times the price. As I discovered the costly way, ordering any other tote here is a waste of money. Finally, I do wish the tote had a better quality exterior mesh pocket with the same long life expectancy as the rest of the bag, several interior wall pockets for organization, and that it came in a slightly dressier-looking nylon, high denier fabric since when I'm dressed up this canvas version often looks a bit too casual and sporty. I wish the maker would please work on a version that incorporates these upgrades. I'm definitely willing to pay more for them. All in all though, even in its current state, this bag is a winner and a steal for the price.

This bag is too large for daily use, but perfect to have around for a weekend jaunt or other situation where you have to stuff a lot of stuff into something. As someone said, it's a must to pack away if you're going on a long trip and might have excess coming back.

UPDATE April 2020: I've now had this bag for almost two years. I managed to get the zipper back on by ripping the seam on the end where the zipper pull is when unzipped to slide the pull back onto the zipper and stitched over the ends so it wouldn't come off again. I have used this as my children's travel bag and have consistently kept it filled with various toys, blankets, spare changes of clothing, diapers, wipes, and food and I still can fit my personal items (wallet, keys, phone, water bottle, etc.) inside and in the pockets. When we flew to San Francisco with my son at 17 months I used this as his diaper bag on the flight with no issues about the size. I managed to fit all his diapers for the trip, toys, and, by using vacuum-sealed storage bags, his full wardrobe for the trip as well as a bassinet- sized 1" memory foam mattress topper and sheet into it. Aside from the initial issue with the zipper, which really was an easy fix, this has been a great tote!Written August 2018:I bought this tote last month for my trip this last week because I needed a large, durable diaper bag for a flight. I really liked this tote for its size, durability, strap length, ability to fit under the plane seat, and overall quality until I zipped it today and the zipper pull zipped right off because the zipper stitching came loose at the end of the track rendering the zipper useless. Being that the return window closed I'm now unable to exchange it for one that isn't defective, even though I've only used it for the last couple of weeks.

The bag size is great. I use this for traveling however there's only one outside pocket that has a zipper. The other two do not which is a problem if you have to put the bag up top on an airline and it tips over. They're also are no inner pockets they should have included at least one inside

Purchased FIVE so far! I searched and searched on multiple sites for an ancillary bag to fulfill my needs. I use one daily to augment what is NOT in my purse. Additionally, I keep one in my traveling suitcase ready to go. Sometimes, I place a rolled-up extra bag inside my daily bag for shopping. The bags that I have gifted were well received—both recipients were thrilled! Perfect size to hold legal-size folders, drinks, and personal items. The material is sturdy and easy to spot clean. The tailored style, and especially being in black, make it versatile. The tight weave adds to its strength. It does not attract lint. Ideal on any occasion: business meeting, day trip with errands, or the beach. The big zipper top keeps everything safe inside. In my bag, the three, convenient outer, deep compartments typically hold a large drink in the open-top one, my cell in the middle, and keys in the third. The wide-webbed straps are comfortable and placed so that even when loaded with heavy items (books, etc.), it is easy to manage over my shoulder. Compliments to the people responsible for this fabulous bag!
