Perfect for My Truck!
Extremely useful for monitoring winch and dual battery current flow on my truck. I'm not using the AH or capacity readings so I like the way the meter always powers-up to the previously selected display mode (V and A in my case) although the mode button is conveniently located on the meter's front panel anyway. I particularly appreciate the Hall effect sensor: no need to install a shut (which I would be concerned about burning out under large current spikes). Your application must allow you to thread your cable through the sensor torus since it doesn't "clam-shell" open, but the meter seems accurate when compared to my bench-top power supply. I don't know how stray magnetic fields might affect it--I don't see a calibration button--but for my purposes, it works great! Including a sensor cable extension would have been nice, but it's easy to splice one in. If the price were lower, I would purchase one for each of my vehicles.

Save the money and buy this one!
I was waffling about buying the trimetric battery monitor and frankly had a hard time believing I could get the same information from a monitor that costs 1/5th the price. I'd have given it 5 stars except the cable to the hall effect transformer is about 5' long. Hardly enough to reach in most applications. a little doorbell wire will resolve that issue but for an extra $0.75 they could have easily included a longer cable. The initial setup instructions are poorly translated but the setup is intuitive. Remember to save your settings after each step. All in all, I'm quite pleased with the monitor, it's price and it's performance. I'd buy it again.

Works Well
This is a very cool battery monitor. It comes with a one page instruction sheet. It's pretty easy to set up. In the settings, the maximum amp-hour you can set is 99.9, not 999.9 as the instructions indicate. Luckily it'll detect how big your battery is after you've completed the setup. You need to run your battery all the way down and then recharge it and it'll display how many AH are available.I bought a 25 foot shielded, 6 wire twisted pair cable and was able to extend the cable that came with it by that much. It seems to work just fine after the extension.

Faulty unit
Set up was straight forward but as the ah reading drops the battery gauge stays at 100%. It always displays a fully charged battery even when the 200ah display is at 100ah when it should show 50%. Reset everything and still the same problem. Also the memory feature does not work, when turned off it should keep the display readings when turned back on but the display resets. This is my second ah display unit for my Polaris EV so I do know how to set this up. There is a problem with this unit.

What? No Manual?
I ordered this for my 1993 Toyota Pickup I'm rebuilding. It works , however the mode change button is in the back of the unit and can't be accessed easily once it's installed. I would like to add a remote push button so I can change modes without having to disassemble the dash of my vehicle to get to the switch. I was hoping the instruction manual would show me where to wire the remote push button, however I didn't get a manual with it. So I'm giving it only three stars. If I'd gotten everything that is suppose to come with this I'd most likely have given it 5 stars. It does work well as best as I can tell. It's got a nice large easy to see display, but you can't really be sure what your getting as far as the mode it's in.

Easy voltage and amperage meter
Cool technology for my 58 camper. Just what I need for piece of mind while camping. I run my camper for boondocking and now am able to monitor my usage. Seems to drift a bit on amperage over a day or so but simple to reset to 0 amps. This really should help get the most life from my 100 ah agm sealed battery. I wish there was ano easy way to mount it beside cutting a hole. I find that's how most things are. Sometimes you just want 4 screw holes to install.

Pretty Fantastic
Voltage reading is dead on correct. Needs to be wired so charging shows as a negative number and discharging shows as positive number. I had to deep cycle the battery (Take it down to 10v with a 10 amp load) and then as it charged back up, the battery Icon and AH reads starting working correctly. Mine came with a long lead which was perfect to go from the battery, inside the car and across the dash. "Under Voltage" setting, sets the voltage at which the voltage number starts flashing. Great purchase.

very impressed and I did a very weird installment.
My requirement for this unit was well outside the standard. I used a cheap 100 foot extension cord (18 awg) to extend the range of the display from the sensor. This involved my cutting the 3 wire sensor lead and inserting the extension cord. I also used a 6 volt transformer as my power supply (7 volts no load and 6.1 volts under load). My instructions we either missing or there were none to tell my what voltage to use. I just knew that LED displays typically use 6 volts. (yes I know i voided the warranty :-)). My requirement was to monitor a solar charging system that is capable of charging in excess of 200 amps at 48 volts (using a 400 amp version) that is located in a building 100 feet away. The unit worked better than expected. Accuracy seems to vary depending on the current, but for any charge between 0 and 220 amps the accuracy is +-5% accuracy.

Simple to install
This meter was easy to install. The hall effect current sensor eliminates the need for a shunt and for interrupting the current flow with additional connection points that could loosen over time. This was particularly important for my marine application in a power distribution box for my small fishing boat. The display is bright and easy to see. After using it for a very short time, I came to understand the current flow in and out of my battery, and how well the voltage regulator on my motor worked. I also know how much current each load on my boat requires, and how long the battery takes to recover. The big advantage of having a digital meter in this application is the current range. With over 50A when the starter is used, to a few amps when down-riggers, bilge pumps, sonar, etc are on, it's pretty difficult to get a decent reading on the smaller loads with an analog bi-directional ammeter. This product makes it very clear and easy to observe. I would definitely consider using it again in another project.

Works very well
Works very well.Sensor fits over a #2 wire lug and loom just fine. You just need to figure which direction it goes on the wire for the Amp Hours to count up or down correctly.A small glitch when setting voltages with the more than one number flashing but not a big deal.
