I got this chew toy for my seven month old puppy. She’s a medium size dog and miniature schnauzer mix maltase. I love this toy for her and it’s perfect for her teeth since she’s a teething puppy. However if your puppy or dog is a chewer and has a strong mouth this toy might last anywhere between a few days or weeks depending on the dog. I don’t mind since this toy ISNT meant to last. It’s meant to be used and abused . In some cases until it’s destroyed. DO NOT leave your dog unattended. Like any dog they can and will eat anything. It’s un realistic to believe other wise.

My 30 pound Australian Cattle dog puppy is chew crazy. His whole purpose in life is chewing things up. He destroys soft toys within seconds and leaves the stuffing all over the house, so we have been testing out different toys that we didn't think he could destroy. We have found a winner!!! I love Nylabones!!! Fortunately, so does he. We purchased 5 different styles with different flavors and textures. He does not seem to have a preference and chews away on all of them without being able to get any pieces off. We keep one in the truck, one in his crate, one in the bedroom, etc. He cannot be without a Nylabone or he will find something else to chew on like the legs of our chairs, the cushions on the couch, the rug...pretty much anything. When he has a Nylabone, he leaves everything else alone. They may be more expensive than other brands, but these will last forever where other brands fail and can be chewed apart. No worries about him swallowing bits and pieces of a bone and getting an intestinal blockage. These are our new favorite toys!!!

Apparently my dachshund is a super chewer. When we adopted him at 8 weeks old, the breeder provided a bone like this in our puppy’s take-home bag. Henry absolutely LOVED it, likely because it was flavored, but I also imagine it feels good when a pup is teething. So for an 8 week old pup, it was great. But as he got a bit older, and I mean by just a couple weeks, he had absolutely demolished the bone. Tore it to shreds. I ordered a couple more just like it from Amazon because I could tell he loved the bone SO much. Unfortunately, these just couldn’t stand up to his super chewer jaws. Fortunately Nylabone offers multiple levels of durability in their bones, so we just upgraded to the most durable type of bone. I don’t think the pup (who is now 11 months old) loves those quite as much because they are more difficult to destroy, but he still loves to gnaw on them because of their yummy flavors. Please don’t leave your dog to chew on these unsupervised. At least not until you know how well they will perform, because they are not indestructible.

My.dogs are obsessed. Read all.the fine print. Pups will chew tiny pieces off eventually. Consult your vet my mine is not concerned. The pieces come.off so tiny that they safely pass them. I have older super cheweds who because of age need softer nylabones to avoid older dog tooth damage. These are perfect and last my pups 2-4 weeks!! Perfect!

I love that this will not break my dog’s teeth, but I don’t love that it only lasts for a few hours. Buddy destroys this (yes, I have bought this a few times just because he loves to do so). I have a smart dog, so he doesn’t eat the pieces he chews off. He spits them all over the floor very vigorously, like he’s really doing an important job. It’s so entertaining to watch, I keep buying the darn things. I wish they were just a wee bit tougher, or maybe that my dude wasn’t 1/3 pittie with a strong jaw. Sigh. I know I will be buying this again.

Not suitable for an actual chewer. Grateful it came back up, surgery for a blockage would have been costly. This was all done on day one.
