Q: How do you get it on. Pull it on or is there a fastener?

the hip/waist velcros at the front just like a normal hip brace with the two side straps that you use to tighten. The upper straps go over your shoulders, under your arms, crosses over at the back and then velcros at the front waist. This pulls your shoulders back. It looks complicated but it makes sense once you've done it.
