Matchbox 9-Pack Die-Cast 1:64 Scale Toy Cars, Construction or Garbage Trucks, Rescue Vehicles or Planes (Styles May Vary)

My son is a typical boy and has discovered the joy of cars and trucks. Matchbox is a staple when you're into modes of transportation. This set is great. There is such a wonderful variety. You get cars, trucks and a helicopter. He is in Heaven playing with this set. He loves being able to slip some into his pockets and pulling them out to play with when we go places. They were a God send when we had to wait at the registry of motor vehicles. The sat quietly, aside from the occasional car noises that he made as we waited for my number to be called. He has since moved on to monster trucks, but still uses these to line them up with the monster trucks. I know that he will have this set for years to come. Matchbox has always made high quality cars and trucks that are able to withstand the abuse that little boys give them. I'm hoping to get a few seats to break up to add to his favor bags for his birthday party. Monster tuck themed of course

This was bought as a donation/gift, one of my go-tos. If you are buying hot wheels individually through the year, getting this at the end of the 'season' means you WILL get duplicates, even if in different color schemes. So use this as a starting point, even if the sale is not now, getting them for less than a buck each is a steal, so decide what is most important to you- you can always give some away! Hot Wheels as a whole though is a solid choice, even if the cars are not something you would likely see on the road.

Here are the nine vehicles I received the other day in my MATCHBOX X7111 9-CAR GIFT PACK (first purchase): 1. Front-loader 2. Dune Buggy 3. Porsche "Cayenne" Sedan, singled out as the "Exclusive" vehicle in this set 4. Fork lift 5. Green futuristic race car 6. Black open "Swamp Commander" 7. Ford F-550 "Super Duty" pickup truck with electric equipment in bed 8. Grey Range Rover "Evoque" 9. Purple Zamboni (ice-rink cleaner) Observations: (a) Mattel bought the British Matchbox line twenty years ago (1997) and since then has taken it toward a "world" orientation. Makers represented here include Porsche, Ford, Range Rover and Zamboni. (b) Although this kind of vehicle still goes by the name of "die-cast," not all are completely or mostly made of metal. The most diappointing model to me is the earth-mover because the orange plastic body doesn't look right, especially next to a similarly colored dune buggy that is mostly metal and very well detailed. (c) Not all these items are road vehicles; some are industrial vehicles (earth-mover, fork-lift, Zamboni). (d) Even so, my favorite item is the Zamboni because the purple body is so well and consistently colored. My second least favorite item is the "Swamp Commander," with its fake brown sideways wheels (for propulsion on water?) and its tiny "real" wheels down below. (e) Matchbox cautions that not all the vehicles may be compatible with other Matchbox equipment. (f) These items were made in Thailand, and quality of fabrication is very good. (g) Matters of compatibility aside, these vehicles are small enough that they look much the same size as Mattel's Hot Wheels line (1:64). Their size relative to the larger "CARS" line (based on the Disney*Pixar animated movies) at 1:55 scale is noticeable. Judgment: Good vehicles at a very compelling price, currently just over $1.00 apiece. You or your children may not have use for all of them, though. Should make a really nice gift for the right kind of kid. Great gift for kids. The toys are durable and lasts as long as you keep them. My nephew was over the moon when he got these!

I purchased this Matchbox set for Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes. The cars are good quality metal die cast cars. They are less expensive when purchased as a set and are great fun for any child who loves vehicles!

I was weary at first buying this because it says styles may vary. But I could not beat the price. They were for my son and he loves cars like no other. They only showed a couple styles. And I was really hoping for the one with the chopper and, cab, and tractor. I didn't get the one I wanted, but the cars I did get were really cute, and great quality. It had a batman car, off rad jeep, police truck and others. My son loved every single one. The one I got wasn't listed, the main car in the white box at the top was a batman car, if you wanted to look up other choices you could possibly get. I do wish there was a choice to choose from, because I really loved this product at a great price, but I would be afraid to buy a second time, because my luck I would get the same pack.

We bought this as a Christmas gift for our 2.5 year old car lover The set we recieved is different than the one advertised however our son will love the set we recieved. Packing was great and it arrived on the estimate delivery date :) good quality cars. Very happy with the product.
