This one worked!
I purchased another brand of this item from another seller, and the threads were so badly made it would not turn more than 1/2 turn. But this one was perfect. Using it to connect a whole house water filter. Threads on easily. Since this is Stainless Steel, the threads are very hard, so you need to add at least 5-10 wraps of good quality (think) teflon tape to ensure no leaks. The pipe paste that I normally use (instead of teflon tape) was not able to provide a leak proof seal.
