I originally bought these sensors and a mini hub in January, 2024. We originally bought them so we could monitor our fridge and freezer while we were on vacation. After our vacation, we left them in the freezer and fridges, as they will give us notice if our appliances fail. They have performed flawlessly over this period, and although none of our appliances failed, they did give us a notification when our freezer door was not closed properly. Given the current cost of food, this alone paid for the cost of the devices. Fast forward 2 years, and we moved to a new house. Given the track record of these sensors, we got another one to monitor the temperature in our heated garage, as we have pool chemicals and stuff in there that should not freeze. These SwitchBot sensors have been proven to be reliable, and are very easy on batteries - 2 years and haven't had to replace any yet. The setup is simple and intuitive, and the app is rich in functionality, but is also simple and intuitive. SwitchBot is my go-to for these sensors. Just buy them - they are great!
