Nice pretty towels. Washed and used. They could be softer. Did not use vinegar in the wash. Instructions say not to use softener. They are nice , not heavy and long, easy for me to dry my back since I have shoulder problems. I hope they will be softer as I wash. Guess I should try the vinegar suggestion.

love these towels. They’re the only ones I own. They’re thin, absorbent, and dry quickly — everything I want in a towel. The size is perfect for a bath towel, and I always feel better knowing they’re 100% cotton.

No more terry-cloth towels for me! These towels absorb water instead of pushing it around. It puzzled me why so many Europeans used, what appeared to be, big dish towels. Why not use the plush terry instead? Then, on a whim, I bought 2. Just 2. I thought they would be unpleasantly rough. They are actually soft enough to dry your face. But they also give you a bit of a massage whilst exfoliating, in an invigorating way. And, they get you dry fast. My hair is waist-length so I use 1 for that, too. Again, much more absorbant. And, no more smelly towels because they didn't get dry!! This is my 3rd purchase, and it's for my son who lives off-grid. This towel is big enough for someone 6'3, and sturdy enough to dry on a tree branch. This turqoise is a beautiful, intense color, too. My cupboard is no longer stuffed with towels; all I need is 2.

I LOVE these towels. A lot. So why the four stars? I'm knocking one star off for price, but if these towels go the distance (more than a few months of daily washing without becoming less absorbent or frayed) I will absolutely up my review to five stars.I'm a big fan of thin towels, but they also have to be absorbent. I have tried "waffle weave" towels before, the ones with the loft/terry on the grid, but after a while the absorbency disappears and the loft goes out of the towel and the towels are basically just flat pieces of cloth.These Gilden Tree towels are completely different. There is NO LOFT or TERRY anywhere on these towels- NO LOOPS. When you get them they are super flat, pretty much the thickness of a common dishtowel. I was really concerned when I pulled them out of the package (and they were wrapped in thin plastic, too- no nice presentation in a laundry bag or recyclable packaging, which was a disappointment, considering the price) and they were just like extra thick bed sheets.But then I threw them in the wash (twice) and the towels basically shrunk and curled up, creating the waffle texture. It's kind of like what happens to one of those magic sponge cloths where they come flat like a piece of paper, and once you wet them they grow. The thing is, when you dry these towels, they remain a little more plush and fluffy (and the edges curl/ripple, too- so if you are a stickler about your towels being folded and on the shelf with crisp edges, these will make you crazy.)After that wash/dry, these towels became instant favorites. They are super absorbent, quicker to dry, stay white in the wash, and they don't have that cheap feel like most other thin towels I have purchased. If these last I will replace all my other bathroom and pool linens with them- it will be worth the huge investment.One note- they are NOT soft. If you want a comfy, plushy, soft experience against your skin, these are not for you. But if you are looking for a thinner towels that absorbs and feels good and dry and light against the skin- never heavy and damp even after you've draped it on your after a shower- these are for you.Highly recommended, but that price (and the packaging...)

Amazing bath sheets! They are HUGE dry ridiculously quick. And are crazy adsorbent. They leave 0 lint.Now, if someone who had always used spun towels, think washcloth these are not fluffy in any capacity. They almost feel like a lightweight blanket. I would strongly suggest washing the first several times with vinegar to soften just because they are 100% cotton, but they are crazy soft once you break them in “” and I have never had another set that I love as much as I am re-ordering for the third time and my original set is still in amazing condition. Each of my adult children have received as gifts yearly since my original purchase in 2021 cannot recommend enough.

Well made and nicely finished edges. Doesn't seem to pull like some do. I've washed it several times trying to soften it up and it's still a bit stiff and scratchy. I've felt much softer waffle towels and have several blankets from PeacockAlley that are very soft and cuddly. I've always used Matouk Milgro bath sheets but wanted to give this one a try. I chose this one due to the oversized bath sheet size as they all do shrink a bit and was hoping this might hit the spot. I'm not giving up just yet but it probably won't be my go to bath sheet. It absorbs well, washes and dries without much lint or shedding. The white has stayed a bright while in the length I've had it.

Wash before 1st use by company and they were lovely when dried, not stiff.Dries quickly after use, lightweight, highly absorbent.Would give A rating. A+ if a hanging loop was on it.

Great waffle fabric, lovely color, very absorbent. Washes well, dries quickly and folds small for storage. Gilden Tree produces quality items.
