Please don't stop making these! They are addictive.
Planters, whatever you choose to do with the company over the next 6 decades (I'm 26 so 60 more years till I won't have taste buds), DON'T stop making these. I know there are people here claiming that their nostalgia wasn't triggered so they could get the natural high they craved. I say these people are either searching to fill some void that has been left from a negative experience in their childhood or they're just prescription drug addicts. In any event, I've had these as a kid. No, they're not the same. They're BETTER! The ones I had as a kid, if I remember correctly, had a more natural cheese taste and came in a bigger tin. I remember eating them at the daycare when I was only single digits years old. Saying that these don't have a natural cheese flavor is by no means a negative. They have this insane chee"Z"ier flavor that makes it hard to stop eating them. I don't know what cost saving measure Planters is using to try to recreate what just using real cheese does, but do not stop with said cost saving measure. These are great! I love them! Sure they're not how they used to be. But neither are Chevy Suburbans and I don't see negative reviews on Amazon about those :). If you buy these, be warned. You'll never stop buying them; right Planters??

They are almost the same
I see a lot of bad reviews of this product. I will say I bought a few cans here an there during the month of December and they tasted like cheese puffs. The date on those cans were for oct and nov but then I ordered a 12 pack here an the date was for December and they tasted way better. I see from reviews that they got sidelined when they first came out probably for that reason something wasn’t right and in those first cans I got that tasted like puffs weren’t shaped like balls lol they had a pellet or oblong shape more than a ball shape.. the people that actually wrote bad reviews from August til december should rebuy and try it again because they definitely fixed the problem. I don’t know what happened but I’m sure that’s why the got sidelined and the first buyers had to wait awhile to get them because something happened at the plant where they made them and each batch gets better. I ordered a pack February 1st and got them 3 days later bc of a Sunday lol and I got 3 cans left. The reason I still have 3 cans because I try my hardest not to eat a Cana day bc it’s bad to do that and I want them to last lol so I’m about to order another pack this week to make sure I stay stocked on these awesome bad boys that bring a blast from my 90s past to me lol we were watching boy meets world a while back in some of the episodes in the later seasons you can see the cheese ball cans in the college dorm and the apartment they live in lol then I was like man I wish they still made these and weeks later I found them in a store and now I order them bc I can’t find them any more lol

Maybe not as good as nostalgia, but still good
I disagree with other reviews claiming these are not the same cheez balls we all remember. Granted, my epicurean memory does not extend far enough back with sufficient clarity to say for certain the recipe has changed, but these balls do scratch my nostalgic itch for the Planters of antiquity. They are more expensive than other cheese balls from other brands, but I feel they do have a superior flavor and texture, and I'm happy that these cheez balls are back, regardless of their suspect authenticity. Their companion Cheez Curls (sadly, no longer available) were, when I was able to order them, were somewhat better in the "cheez" flavor department, though the ball variety remains overall superior. I do hope Planters continues to make these, and to reintroduce the Curls variety as well, even at a slightly higher price point. We need all the help against Cheetos we can get.Edit: After receiving (and eating) a second order of these, the product appears to have changed. They are no longer "balls" but instead lumpy, mis-shapen "cheese asteroids", and the cheese flavor is decreased. They are still good, but no longer the same recipe as others have stated.

good NEW BATCH (that makes up for whatever actually happened with the 1st batch)
I was honestly prepaired for complete dissapointment for a few reasons, but mostly:1. initial 1st-batch preorder reviews posted so terribly in july & no solid explanation why, from cust support or Planters. Was insinuated that bad 1st run some how & pulled back from warehouses (but some had shipped already...hence bad july/aug reviews). Reguardless, I was assured i wouldn't loose my place & Planters was making 2nd+ batch. However backordered til Christmas! No big deal really, because...well they're Cheez balls.*Bottom line:Solid 4+ out of 5stars.Totally worth $2 can.*Picky complaints:1. just SLIiiGHTLY overcheesed ORANGE!(& yes I'm yelling "ORANGE!")2. other than above, they're 90% match for original flavor, testure & size consistency.Cans are pretty lagitt also.*note: mfg date on all 12 of my cans, says produced about 1-week ago (1yr shelf life). So, yay-Amazon that these snacks were made, packed, flown around the country & on now my table already!NomNomNom
