Fatima for Today: The Urgent Marian Message of Hope

"Fatima for Today" is written in a style accessible to the general reader. It covers just about everything you might want to know about the message of Fatima, and likely more. It is a perfect book to read in this year (2017) which marks the 100th anniversary of the apparitions at Fatima in Portugal.The book includes a description of the lives of the three young visionaries, life and the political situation in Portugal at the time, the content of the apparitions, and the revealing of the message. It includes ample explanation of the belief that the conditions for the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary have been properly met, in light of continued objections from some that they have not.Fr. Apostoli includes the plea, made several times, to complete the "Five First Fridays" and to live in a way that we will be witnesses and instruments of the grace of God to transform the world. There is also an interesting and provocative reflection on the apparitions and the possibility that they can promote Catholic-Muslim dialogue.The book is just 284 pages long, with almost 50 of those pages being appendixes which add further detail to parts of the book, including a response to the criticism that the consecration of Russia (as called for by the apparitions) made by Pope John Paul II is not adequate.

Yes, the message of Fatima is still active. And, we still can change the world with prayer and love of God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit through the beautiful love and guidance of the earthly mother of Jesus, Mary who is also our mother. Fr. Apostoli beautifully explains the many Church teachings about Mary and Fatima and the children and how Mary through her maternal care loves her children on earth. Like any good mother she encourages her earthly children to do things--prayer, penance, confession, reparation-- to help their spiritual growth and at the same time to call down graces to earth. Although this is my third book on Fatima and having read many shorter articles and chapters in other books, I found Fr. Apostoli's book to present material in a fresh way. More than any other material I have read, Fr. Apostoli relates the message of Fatima to events in the world clearly and shows us that through the intercession of Mary to God and Jesus we can hope for a better world and we can see glimpses of God at work in the world today. My faith grew. My understanding of the message and the great love of Mary for her children grew.

This book is THE book needed for today second only to Holy Scriptures. Very readable and encouraging, but with a warning that cannot be ignored. Please read this asap and pass it on to as many other people who you think will read it. I finished mine a month ago and I tell you it is so powerful. It has brought about changes in me that I didn't know needed to be made, thanks be to God and the Holy Spirit and our Blessed Mother. I think I have purchased at least six more books and given them or sold them to others who asked me to order. the title says "urgent message" and believe me, the message is urgent! If you have children or grandchildren who are not believers...if you yearn for peace on earth...if you want a closer walk with Christ and His Mother, Mary...if you want a deeper spiritual life, read this book. I gave it 5 stars, but that is not enough. Obviously I love this book and recommend it to everyone who has eyes to read with and a heart to love with and a mind to think with. Amen

Fatima well explained and a very easy read. A great book to increase your love and devotion to our Blessed Mother!

Born 60 years after the visions at Fatima, I had grown up hearing about them, the secrets and devotions. However, I was never given a complete picture and in the bit transmissions of information the message was lost.While I have a great devotion to the Immaculate Conception, I have not read anything else about Our Lady of Fatima or the visionaries. This book presents a beautiful summary of the events, the message, the meaning of the message and how to apply this message. It is inspiring and gets you wondering how you can console the Immaculate Heart of Mary!I recommend this book to anyone who is curious about this whole Fatima thing!Learn how this was loving reiteration of the good news, "Repent and believe the Gospel!" We have have heavenly mother interceding for us and she shows her love by reminding us of living virtuously and pointing us to her Son. Know what spiritual weapons we have and how we can bring greater grace into this world.

A nice easy read and view of some of the history behind Fatima, and some of the social/political things going on in Portugal at the time. I wasn't aware from past readings at web sites for Fatima that Portugal was even communist at the time. There were references to the hard line the government took, but this presented new information for me. I guess I just didn't pay that much attention in History/Religion classes, or maybe it was never really covered in any depth. Memory plays tricks on you. I also appreciated the religious aspect presented by Fr. Apostoli which were more or less glossed over in my Catholic education of 50 years ago or so. I remember being taught about Fatima, but never taught any of the prayers or details about the visitations/apparitions. Anyway, I'm now saying the Fatima prayers daily with a lot more fervor. I've been saying them for the past year but never with the understanding I now have. It makes them all the more special since I now know more about their origin, and the requests of Our Lady.

I bought Kindle version because of ease of transportation on future visit to Fatima over printed version. I am though disappointed that chapter titles do not appear on contents page, having appeared on sample version. a serious shortcoming given the cost of the Kindle version. The book itself is well written and highly informative.

I liked the way this book methodically reviews the facts and concerns around the third secret. The power of the Fatima message is made clear and speaks to us for our time.
