Great kit at a great price
This kit helped me fix threads in a mountain bike frame with ease. This same kit was almost twice the cost at my local auto part store. It shipped quick, and in good condition. There was no packaging (not a big deal to me) and everything was in a zip lock bag which was nice and secure. Decent measure to take on saving money for the end customer. I dig it. :)

Fixed
Worked great, not easy to remove broken bolt in aluminum block

Excellent idea, pretty good implementation.
Love the concept and the idea. My only issue is the coils split apart if you use too much force. Also had the insertion tool bend at the end, getting stuck around the end of the coil. Might have been my awkward engine, but was still concerning. Otherwise, it really seems to do what it's supposed to do, and despite these issues I've mentioned, I'd buy again and would recommend.

Good product
I have used several now. The only issues to date are as follows:On an oil pan, I did not seat the threads deeply enough and the threads leaked. I had to drill a couple of them out and replace. On the second run, I used thread locker, took the inserts deeper so they did not partially extend below the engine block and also used a gasket sealing compound on the screws and around the pan. It is working well-no drips to date. The only other issue is be careful when seating the threads. As you are nearing the bottom, make sure you can withdraw the tool. It could be due to me not tapping deeply enough but the insert constricts as it gets deeper. This prevents the insertion tool (screws the insert in place) from being removed. You can't unscrew the thread without breaking the ears at the end or pull it our. In my case, I broke the ears off. Lesson learned....

They will “probably” work for you.
This set is just OK. I used them to repair the rocker arm bolts on my mower engine(kohler command). The tap and drill were great, I had zero problems using them in aluminum. The helicoil install tool is very cheaply made. It would bend slightly as I screwed in the helicoils and become stuck in the hole. The helicoils themselves were crimped in the wrong spot(just slightly off) so the tabs didn’t break off cleanly. I strongly recommend only screwing in the helicoils until they are just below the surface, that way you can remove them if the tab doesn’t break off right. Just pry up the top coil and pull them out to remove. Once the helicoils were installed, it’s hard to get your bolt screwed in because the top of the helicoil has sharp edges. At the end of the day these did work for me, but they were more trouble than name brand. If you’re determined to save money, just know that you’re making a gamble here.

Worx! Perfectly!
Used this on my 2014 cruze timing cover valve cover bolt holes! If it dont make sense go to nxt review. Well the holes do have bottoms but definitely use a rag or towel to keep shavings out of oil or crank case. Keep them straight and they work perfectly. Torque to spec np. Good product.

Nice fix for stripped aluminum
Worked great to repair stripped caliper mounting post on a Fox mountain bike suspension fork. I did not have any trouble using this, but the coil took a little bit of fiditing to get threaded into the tapped hole. Overall a great deal, saved me a few hundred bucks!

Works
Had to drill out an oil pan hole, since was cross-threaded and snapped off the bolt. I was nervous since never used these, but was pretty easy with included drill bit and tap and install tool. One con is I had to re-tap the thread, but came out perfect. Thank you.
