very strong Magnet
Very strong. Almost was unable to slide it off a steel plate that I attached it to. lucky I placed some cardboard between the plate and the magnet to reduce the force. Still took two of us to slide it 6 inches off the steel plate with a rope.

I don’t know how they measure magnet strength, it’ll pick up my microwave but would have to be REALLY thick to get something even close to 1700 lbs. As long as you know what you’re doing, it’s a very safe and strong magnet. Overall good value, very sharp look and not impossible to remove depending on surface. Weighs a good bit but nothing more than expected for magnet. Overall highly recommended

Not a strong magnet for fishing or anything of the sorts. Still a big magnet but no chance you can magnetize anything in the side of it the metal casing is far to thicc
