Lasko 20 inch Power Plus Box Fan, 3, Gray

I love Lasko products. I had one of their fans for five years and it ran almost all the time, every Summer. I still have the fan and it works fine. I wanted to add more fans to my place so I got this one. This is louder than my old one and a little bit bigger. But the benefit is that it moves more air than my old one. It looks even better made than the one I bought 5 years ago.

Lasko fans have been around for a long time, so I was expecting the box fan to do what it was supposed to. Once you get over how loud it is (at least on the highest setting), it ability to move air is impressive. Great value for money. It's a shame that, as with many things nowadays, the fan has so much plastic.

I needed a pair of fans to circulate the air (intake at one end end of the room; exhaust at the other) in a 3 season porch that gets really hot in the summer. I first tried a couple of window fans (those small ones with the two plastic blades) - but they did not do a thing. I tested them with hanging tissues to check for air movement, but there was hardly any movement - even 7 feet from the intake side. I figured with these 2 - 20" fans it would be more than enough power. Not so much. I have them running on high speed and I can not feel any movement from the opposite side of the room - about 22' away (tissue test shows the air flow goes maybe 10-12'). But they did work better than the small window fans and are fine for what I need them to do - so I'll give them 4 stars. These fans would be great for a bedroom where you place the fan fairly close by for a gentle breeze and need white noise - since it is fairly quiet - so I'll give them a thumbs up in the fairly quiet category.

I bought one from the Amazon Warehouse, so it had previously been sold and returned. It does not appear to have ever been used, because the feet were still in their original packaging.We bought it for one primary use: drying our family room sofa, chair, and carpeting for when we clean them. It is a pretty large room, at 14 feet wide by 25 feet. Normally it takes between 9 and 12 hours to completely dry all of that with our two small 6-inch round floor fans. I just cleaned the sofa and turned on the fam for the first time. It was completely dry in only 1.5 hours!Personally, I did not find it to be a noisy fan. It is not "quiet," but it is also not "noisy." There is no rattling, grinding, or any other kind of noise that is not a perfect hum. I find its mouse and volume to be quite soothing, personally. I also have moderate tinnitus, so it helps to drown that out - always a plus!For under $40 (I paid just over $30, with the repackaged warehouse deal), I couldn't be happier with this purchase!

I HAVE OTHER LASKO FANS. SOME ARE TOO LOUD AND I USE THEM ONLY WHEN I HAVE TO. THE EARLIER ONES WERE GREAT. WELL, GREAT IS BACK. THIS FAN WORKS JUST FINE. AM GOING TO GET ANOTHER ONE.

I bought this fan because I needed one and it was American made. I am fed up with Chinese junk and wanted to support American businesses. My folks have a Lasko that they have used for 6 or 7 years, so I thought sounds good. Was not hard to put the feet on and came undamaged in an undamaged box. Plugged it in and turned it on, wasn’t loud and put out good air. I live in Arizona and so moving air is an essential for staying cool. After the fan had been running for about 30 minutes, I realized I was starting to sweat and figured I needed to turn the fan up as it was on low. Went to turn it up, dead as a door nail. Would not turn on, not a blade turned. Tried a different plug, turned it off and on, no good. It is already on it’s way back. I’ll be trying an Air King next.

Works Well to add a little more air movement in our open kitchen and family room. Use it primarily in the kitchen while doing dishes. Is very quiet. 3 setting, I usually use low. Highly recommend.

I ordered one too many of this good fan and I am expected to pay the full shipping which is two-thirds of the price I paid. What happened to the A to Z Amazon Return Guarantee???
