AWESOME
For starters the Beasty Boys are one of the most versatile acts ever.Aglio e Olio in particular is a must have disc, not even necessarily if youre a fan of the Beasty Boys but of Hardcore Punk in general, its sits well in a solid collection.its 8 tracks of raw energy and fresh every time I out it in.Id say track 4("nervous assistant") if the highlight of this EP, the middle and the peaking of this disc!R.I.P. Real punk!
The beastie boys are the only hip hop I've ever liked and are the most talented in that damn genre. With Aglio e olio, the boys go back to their awesome hardcore punk roots, you must check this album out if you want some good punk rock music back. It shows that even tough the 80's punk were dead, the beasties still bring back the good old punk back since this was released in 1995. For fans of Minor threat, Black flag, and just any hardcore fan this is a must. It's really short, shorter than other punk CD's but is still worth checking out. For those who are only "hip hop" fans, i guess you've never heard the punk, even hard rock and some metal in Licensed to Ill huh? in all their hip hop albums they've never let their punk influence out. "You gotta fight for your right to party" is mainly a classic 80's hard rock anthem. So what'cha want from Check your head has strong guitar rock sound in it. Even the classic Sabotage is half punk rock, which would be consider a rapcore song. If i recall the only hip hop only album they ever did was probably To the 5 boroughs. Hello nasty lacked in punk but they still carried a rock sound. Beastie boys are REAL hip hop, but that's not what they have always been. So for true punk and early hardcore punk fans i suggest checking this EP out. This EP puts all the fake punk fans to shame in their game. They were the first hardcore band in the new york scene but since they went to do hip hop, i guess many people forgot where they started. This EP is not a must like say Black flag's Damaged, but if you want REAL punk, then get it man you won't be disappointed except for how short it is. And check their early hip hop albums too they're awesome. It's funny how Licensed to Ill is consider a rap album for metalheads (I've heard) or for those who just didn't like hip hop. But it doesn't only have beats, with Rick Rubin on board you know why it had some metal elements. And since the beasties were a bit different, it wasn't boring like other hip hop.

unite
I have to say that once upon a time I thought if you didnt like the BBoys then you were damaged. I tried to argue my point and back it up with hard evidence. I see now that I dont need to justify the Beasties. Some get it and some dont. Those who dont are missing something valuable. This is not just music- it's a feeling, a state of mind. There I go again- I'll just say buy it. If you like it GOOD- if you dont maybe you should check out something less complicated. May I suggest Barney's Purple Play House.

A fun hardcore punk release
Like the Amazon.com review says, there are much better punk rock records out there, and much better Beastie Boys records out there, but I still like this little CD. I like that the Beastie Boys haven't ignored their hardcore roots, despite becoming HUGELY famous for their hip hop skills. This is a good disc to toss in the CD player along with some Bad Brains, Adolescents, Agent Orange, and other stuff like that.
