is this good for winter? i need something heavy

The blanket is pretty heavy, definitely going to keep you warm. As far as double thick/sided, there's definitely a side that'll always be the 'inside' of the blanket. It's pretty thick too.Good blanket.

Does this blanket shed?

We've washed this blanket plenty of times since we've had it, stays soft and does not shed. Good Quality Blanket!!

it says it ships in a month?

It looks like there are a few sellers selling this item. I am one of them and i can not sell if for 34.99 or whatever that price shows. If the one you are choosing says $34 plus and it takes a month, then i guess it takes that long. I'm not sure why Amazon is not answering your question and I am. If you order from my site, algomaretail.com, the blanket is 89 with free shipping and you would receive it in 3-5 days. I also have the blankets on this site and the price is not that low. I don't know where this one you are choosing is shipping from, but i will forward your concern to the folks at Amazon. Hope this helps.
