I had serious misgivings about this purchase, but i am very glad i bought it!Based on the design, with the drain plug too close to the floor to fit a bucket or pan underneath, i worried about emptying it. Like most folk, i don't have a floor drain on the main floor of my house, which where i want it.But it's been running daily for nearly 3 weeks during very hot & humid weather, and hasn't needed emptying yet. I worried that it would need daily empties, like a dehumidifier, but apparently not! For very infrequent emptying, wheeling it out to the deck will work fine.It's pretty noisy when the compressor is running, but the cool air it puts out makes that seem justified. Cools fast and very efficiently!It would be nice if the exhaust piping was insulated, as it radiates a bit of heat during the cooling cycle, but i expect that would add to the price, and i was glad it wasn't a budget-buster!Portability isn't straightforward, as the exhaust hose and its window fitting create extra work if you're moving it from room to room. (if that's your plan, make sure all the concerned rooms have the same size & type of window so that one adjustment will fit all)All in all, this unit is excellent value for the price and, thus far, a very efficient air conditioner.

This is a lifesaver in my bedroom since the compressor to my central A/C failed beyond repair, and I cannot afford to replace it this summer.I live in TX, so the heat demands a portable unit to work hard, and this unit is cooling and pulling the temperature down 25 degrees to a cool 68 degrees, and I do not run it all day- just at night for sleep or if I am relaxing in my room.I chose a portable unit because the windows in my bedroom are tall, and they slide to the left horizontally, so a standard window A/C unit will not work with my type of window.The installation instructions were clear, detailed, and easy to follow.The only thing I needed to purchase to finish the job is the physical grey foam strips to block areas where fresh air would otherwise enter the room, making the unit work harder and potentially triggering it off until it rests enough to cool down and resume cooling.Price value was good.

It cools and it's relatively quiet -- quieter than the window unit we had in last year, at least. I only gave 4 stars because the exhaust hose is almost impossible to get into the holders, on either end. Once I finally did get them in, they wouldn't stay. I finally had to duct tape them so they wouldn't keep falling out. All and all, it's a decent product, and it does cool well. It's the set up that's annoying.

I was able to slowly carry this 40+ lb. AC unit up two flights of stairs in my townhome.The AC blows out cool air to help me sleep, so I am happy that I got it for that function. However...1. It is really, really loud! I already sleep with a white noise sound machine, so I like a little background hum to fall asleep to. However, this AC sounds incredibly loud. It's probably suitable for an office, not a bedroom.2. Attaching the exhaust hose on one end to the hose connector, and the other end to the windows kit adapter was the most difficult part of setup. Both end attachments are supposed to easily screw into the exhaust hose. In reality, it was very difficult to do that! I nearly gave up.3. The adjustable window kit is either too small, or too large for a typical window! To compensate, I had to cut out a piece of cardboard to fill the gap (see pics). If I had used the provided extender, it would have been too wide for my window.4. The base of the windows kit adapter is too large when placed to sit on my window sill. It forces an opening gap (see pics). In turn, the whole base is misaligned and gaps are evident everywhere. Horrible design.

So, I bought this unit on May 12, 2025 and it worked great, exactly as advertised, cooled the room it was in very well. However, it stopped working on June 20, 2025 which was just beyond the 30 day Amazon return window.I contacted the company directly via e-mail detailing the issue and the trouble shooting I had already completed, and sent a couple of pictures of what was going wrong. I received an immediate response the next morning offering to send a replacement unit at no charge. I was thrilled as all I really wanted was a working unit. To my surprise, I had the new unit at my house in just 2 days (which was great considering the summer heat). The new unit is working great and hopefully will continue to do so.If you're on the fence about the product, it's a good unit, relatively quiet for what it is (I've heard some that are much louder), and cools great. Also, if something does happen to go wrong outside of Amazon's return window, the seller has excellent service in resolving the issue, which is very reassuring when spending money on a product like this!
