Muc-Off Motorcycle Cleaner - 1 Liter 664US

Here's a real world review about Muc-Off after a 340 mile ride. I started with a somewhat but not totally clean bike, I want to make that clear, but this ride was a great test for this product. CONDITION OF THE BIKE: The first half of the ride was in mixed, drizzly rain. The kind of rain that doesn't clean a bike or get you soaked but the kind that creates huge amounts of road spray and all the oily grime that comes with it. The rain was intermixed with direct sun which would then bake on whatever dirt you had just accumulated. The second half of the ride was intensely hot, in direct sun the whole way and not short on insects. So the bike was grimy and covered in bug guts plus everything was baked on. The other thing that makes this a good test is the fact that the bike is a Harley-Davidson Pan America ADV bike. ADV's are notoriously hard to clean with all the crooks, crannies and crevices that come with that style of motorcycle. Also the Pan America has a lot of different materials and services. There's painted surfaces, plastic surfaces, painted plastic surfaces, matte paint, shiny paint, steel, bare aluminum, anodized aluminum, rubber and most everything else. PRECONCEPTIONS: After watching Muc-Off reviews on YouTube of people essentially cleaning already clean bikes and using pressure washers I thought the product was basically just soap. RESULTS: It's not just soap. It has an alkaline component to it which gives it a little bite (you can feel it on your skin) so I would pay close attention to how long I left it on the cycle. But I want to be clear, with all those surfaces it didn't damage any of them. Not the anodized wheels, not the paint, not the windshield, no damage at all. However I did see a YT video of an Australian woman that showed some dulling of a painted aftermarket coil spring and what looked like the alkaline component attacking the retro style spark plug covers on her Triumph, and it was a legit video. That said, two other things really set it apart from soap (I usually use Dawn Spray-On dish soap). Unlike soap, this stuff rinses off immediately and thoroughly. It also, without having to use a brush, really cleaned the bike up nicely. It got rid of the grime and amazingly it got rid of all the bug guts without having to scrub anything. For the record, I liberally applied this product to the bike while it was dry, let it sit for a couple of minutes, then rinsed it off with a regular garden hose. I then went back over the now wet bike again with the Muc-Off and rinsed it a second time then dried everything with an old bath towel. Now if you've got a half inch of caked on mud from some adventure out in the wild I'm sure your results will vary. But after the ride I had I'm kind of amazed at how well this worked. DOWNSIDES: It takes about a half a bottle or maybe a little more to clean a bike. That puts it in the "sort of" expensive category. Plus, the Pan America is not a huge bike. If you've got a really big Cruiser you're going to need more. And you don't want to run out halfway through cleaning it so you may have to buy more than one bottle at a time or buy the bigger sizes (for more money). SUMMARY: There is no magical product out there that's going to clean a bike to showroom new without a little effort. That said this one is pretty close. Will I buy it again? Absolutely but I'll get the larger sizes and try to save a little money overall based on cost per ounce.

I live by this rule; if the bike looks clean from 10 feet away, its clean. This is an easy way to keep your bike clean. Remember to shake the bottle (like the label says). Spray the bike down, scrub any stubborn stains (like splattered bugs), then rinse the bike off. I think it works great.

Talk about going from dirty to shining without any work. The spray tip has a foaming filter on the end. I highly recommend using it. Saves from over spraying and the foaming action does so much better. Spray on, let it set for a few minutes (5min) and rinse off. Thats it.

I have owned several motorcycles over the past 30 years and my current KTM Duke 890r wheels are the worst thing to clean out of all the bikes. The orange looks good on the bike, however, you can wash the bike and a week later the wheels look dirty. Even washing the bike with several other recommended cleaners, I've always had to reclean the wheels with WD-40 and a microfiber towel to get the grime off. It is the first motorcycle cleaner I have used that cleaned the wheels with some agitation with the help of a wheel brush! I would recommend the product seven though it is a little pricey. I did not get a picture of the dry wheel, it looked a lot darker. The first pic is after I got it wet, the second with the Muc Off, and the third after using a brush to clean the wheel.

WINNER! Purchased to wash a KTM motocross bike. Even in the red nasty thick Georgia clay, this stuff is a champ! Spray it on, let it do it's thing for a minute. Used a standard garden hose attachment on the "jet" mode and a soft little detail brush. Barely any effort at all. I have used other Muc Off products for mountain bike racing. this stuff is GREAT!!

It works good, doesn't leave a bunch of spots. It foams somewhat when you spray it on so you can see where you applied it, although it doesn't stay foamy. I like that it is biodegradable. To be honest, because of my cleaning routine, I can't say that the Muc Off is better than any others that I have tried. I haven't found any cleaner that I can just spray on and hose off and get all the dirt. I always rinse the bike, spray the cleaner on, and then use car wash soap and a brush. Even then, I find some dirt when I go to dry with a micro fiber towel. So...I like the Muc Off, but in the future I may just go with something that is less expensive.

Does its job but very harsh on hands especially if you have cuts. Can develop rashes. Normal car wash can be used without gloves but not this. The spray nozzle doesn't foam properly. Perhaps it might've been only mine though. Still, I won't use it again. Normal turtle wax does the job just fine.

Works as advertised

Se hai una moto, sai che pulirla può essere una vera scocciatura. Sporco, fango, residui di insetti, unto... si attacca tutto! Ho provato diversi prodotti nel corso degli anni, ma devo dire che il Muc-Off Nano-Tech Motorcycle Cleaner è diventato il mio preferito, e non a caso. Una delle mie maggiori preoccupazioni è sempre stata quella di usare prodotti che potessero rovinare le parti delicate della moto (vernice, metalli lucidi, guarnizioni, freni). Con Muc-Off, non ho mai avuto problemi. È biodegradabile e formulato per essere sicuro su tutte le superfici della moto, il che ti dà una tranquillità incredibile. Non corrode, non lascia aloni.

Acquistato per la pulizia della moto. Due i punti fermi del prodotto: il primo è che è costoso (un flacone permette un solo lavaggio), il secondo è che è ineguagliabile per qualità ed efficienza. Quindi se potete/volete spendere per pulire la vostra moto, sappiate che non troverete nulla di meglio sul mercato. Personalmente, da maniaco delle due ruote, ho provato una lunga serie di prodotti per la pulizia del mio "cavallo di ferro", senza tuttavia trovare nulla che eguagliasse il muc-off. Spruzzato sulla superficie bagnata del mezzo, va lasciato a lavorare per cinque minuti e poi rimosso sempre con acqua. Impressionante la sua capacità di rimuovere lo sporco lasciando la superficie linda. Quando si risciaqua con la canna dell'acqua (soprattutto quando la moto è particolarmente sporca) si assiste ad una specie di commovente apparizione della moto pulita! Basta poi il passaggio del panno in microfibra per togliere l'acqua ed i pochissimi residui di sporco per concludere il lavaggio. La confezione giunge con il flacone ed uno spruzzino da avvitare sull'apertura, una volta rimossa la pellicola/tappo di chiusura della bottiglia. Ripeto: è un prodotto indubbiamente costoso, più di ogni altro simile prodotto per la pulizia della moto, ma vale ogni singolo centesimo del prezzo.
