After destroying a pair of dress shoes by letting them dry out and crack, I bought this to keep my new shoes alive. I use the mink oil and polish every couple weeks and they’ve stayed supple and looking great! I also use the mink oil on my Red Wings and it works great!

It's a delight to open; everything has an earthy tone and a classic feel, with leather, wood, and horsehair.Speaking of horsehair, it's a traditional material that's surprisingly durable for shoe brushes, being less prone to breaking or shedding. Interestingly, horsehair also generates less static than synthetic brushes, which can attract dust to freshly polished shoes. The wooden brush handle is equally natural, comfortable to use, light, and durable. And, for those wondering, the leather is genuine, not PU (polyurethane) leather. All of this contributes to a durable, long-lasting, and handsome gift for men or women. Even the shoehorn is durable, made of metal, not plastic.The kit is about a foot long and four inches in diameter, so it fits easily into a weekender bag (though I wouldn't recommend it for a day trip).Overall, what I love most is its aesthetic appeal, its excellent craftsmanship, and its practicality.
