I took quite a few years off from it but recently decided to go back to doing what I love: growing healthy vegetables and fruit plants and trees. However, I wanted to reduce costs as things are so expensive. Plus, I have some mobility issues and creating a compost bin or area was not feasible for me to maintain. I was looking for something that could make compost but also provide nutrients for my garden. I had been watching this kitchen compost model for a few weeks to see if the price would drop. Luckily, I was able to get it at a great price. The composter is compact, very sturdy on the counter, has a heavy-duty bin to place your food and green/brown yard waste, charcoal filter and easy open/close lid. The first time I ran the machine; I only filled it about a third of the way because it says not to store food past one day. However, that can use up the 600 hours on the charcoal filter rather quickly. I decided to store food waste in it for a week to see if it would stink. There was no smell at all. I put in coffee grinds, tea leaves, eggshells, vegetable peelings (cucumber, onions, garlic, bell peppers, greens, cilantro etc.), fruit peelings (berries, apples, pears) and leaves from the yard. I found that there was no smell. And most of the time, all I could smell was the coffee even though I wasn't adding a lot to it. I am not saying this will work for everyone or in all climates. Likely, during the summer months, I will have to run it more often. But for now, I can fill it up and get more compost. My compost is dark and rich. I love the smell of coffee. I am clearing out a large bed of lantanas to create a vegetable garden. Each section that I clear, I will be sprinkling the compost from this machine over the area then covering with cardboard, yard leaves and some nutrient dense raised bed mix soil. Then I will cover it with plastic. From experience, I have had to deal with different pests eating my garden plants because I didn't properly prepare my bed. I like to solarize the soil with all my added stuff. Then I go back and add more fertilizer, compost and good soil. The result is black gold that you can grow anything in. A tip when using the composter. There are times that you will NOT need to run the composter the entire time. Because I do collect waste for a week, most of it is already dried out. My last batch only took a little over two hours. I know it is done when it starts to smell a little burnt. I know not everyone can purchase one but if you can save up and watch for sales, then I highly recommend getting a kitchen composter. It was worth the money. Another tip, a company called PUREBURG sells the replacement charcoal filters specifically for this model here on Amazon.

I never thought that composting could be this easy until I got this because I saw a friend had this in her kitchen. I used this for some weeks already daily so I guess I could give my opinion, I am amazed at how much food waste I have been able to cut down, my family used to fill up the trash can so quickly with fruit peels and leftovers but now this little thing quietly turns it all into dry compost in the night. There is zero smell and no mess thank god, and this is compact enough to sit right on my counter without getting in the way plus it has some clean function that is great, I just add water and press some buttons and it cleans itself, how I don't know but it cleans himself.

I ordered this to start composting to utilize the pulp from juicing and salad scraps. The machine worked well for about 5 times. Then it stopped working. The contents weren't being processed properly even after running it for 2 or more cycles with the same contents and handing mixing. I wouldn't recommend this brand.

The composter works exactly as advertised. I was thrilled to find a product that would compost small amounts of meat. I was very pleased with it until...I used it A LOT. I live alone and I filled it with my food scraps and the scrapings from the cats food dish. The 2.5L capacity is kind of small and I had a tendency to over fill it.I broke it. There is no way to purchase parts for repair. Although I learned my lesson and I like the product, I am buying a larger machine.

I have been shopping for an indoor composter for quite some time. I absolutely love it!I love the simplicity. Easy to use, setup took fewer than 5 minutes. Product looks and feels durable, like it should cost more. So very glad it didn't lol. It is quieter than I expected. Included carbon filter keeps smells gone. We have only used it for produce so far. I love that it means less stuff going in the garbage and more stuff going into my garden!
