Best 200 bucks I've ever spent
I'm not including a picture because it came very similar to what is described in the profile pictures. Overall very symmetrical and the varnish looks great (mine is Matt, not glossy) so i'm impressed. I took off the 3 fine tuners and it can pass as something more expensive, except that the f-holes are not perfectly cut though mostly symmetrical hahaha but it's 200 dollars!! Two peice back. Soundpost is nice and correct. One peg didn't like to hold on, so i had to rewind the whole thing and it's good now. The bow is just ok quality. 2 hairs on one of the bows are a little looser than the others. One bow is almost completely straight the other is noticably curved near the tip that's still not too bad. The bridge was cut on point and came set up steady. After tuning, all string angles check out. Upon closer inspection, I found 2 small saw dust peices stuck in the varnish on the side at one spot, and some more in the curves of the scroll, a tiny chip on the rim barely visible, and a tiny bit of hair stuck in the varnish on the scroll lolololollolol (varnish brush hair most likely as it looks brittle and synthetic.)Chin rest is low which is the way I like it. Oh right! The shoulder rest is uselessly small!! Buy a regular shoulder rest that's less than 20 bucks π€£π€£. Rosin looks cheap but a good rosin is less than10 bucks so who cares! Tuner is not HD, but there are so many free tuner options online nowadays I'm surprised they even included an average tuner in the outfit.Ok, how does it sound?? Very good! It doesn't sound like a 2000 dollar violin, but it compares with a 500 dollar violin at a shop easily. You really don't have to change the strings I think. The feel of the strings are very good. As it ages it might get better but who cares it's already very good for a 200 dollar violin.I've only had it for 6 hours. I'll update in a couple of days if there are major problems. I'm really lucky I got a good one so happy with it.I watched a violin sweatshop video by Stenor on YouTube and I encourage you guys to find that and watch it. They might be helpful in adjusting your expectations with these mass produced violins. I am really impressed, because it looks like it takes a couple of days to make one violin at the factory, but it takes months to years for a luthier to make a fine instrument all by him/herself. This violin got the most important engineering parts right, and it's understandable that someone didn't spend hours/day doing the paint job, especially at the scroll, nor cutting the perfect F-holes ππAll things considered, I highly recommend this for a beginner violinist. However, do take it to a teacher or a luthier who knows what they are doing for the fine adjustments! Before you go, check out the video on YouTube by KevinLeeLuthier. The guy is a little goofy/dramatic, but he is a master luthier afterall. He is so passionate and gives out detailed specs on the instrument i really enjoy all his videos so glad i discovered him! Happy day today ππ

Decent quality for the price
Overall the violin is a decent student violin. The grooves in the nut are not well defined, and it's a fairly thin piece overall. The tailpiece is solid enough and the fine tuners are actually really well made. The bridge, well, you probably want to buy a new one when you get a chance, but it works, and since it comes with a second one as a replacement you'll get plenty of use out of it. The second set of strings is nice as well. And while not top shelf, they are decent student strings and the overall sound quality is good. The book and metronome are a nice touch, but the shoulder rest is pretty low quality. And I'm not sure where the rosin comes from, but I had to file the top layer off so the bow would get any rosin on it at all.

Already Set and Prepared!
Fantastic instrument for beginners and possibly intermediate students as well! The violin came in fantastic condition! Violin did have minor imperfections on the paint but it's not very noticeable from a distance. Wood seems of decent quality and everything seems great! Strings are steel preludes and sound nice although it can sound much better with Synthetic strings or Dominants. The included tuner/metronome is a plus. The book is also a nice extra along with the included shoulder rest however the shoulder rest could be better. Rosin was good and the two bows seemed to do the job just fine. I was surprised that out of the box the bridge was already installed and intact when it came. The sound post inside the violin was also intact as well! I thought I would have to install the bridge myself but it was already set! All the bridge needed is a little adjustment in the position.

Quality instrument for a very good price
I am an amateur violinist who was looking for an instrument to last me several years. I knew I did not want to spend the several thousand dollars necessary for an older professional violin, so I did quite a bit of research before selecting this Cecilio. First, this is a Chinese-made violin. That said, Cecilio luthiers have been trained in the classical European tradition of violin making; the quality of the instruments they are producing now is nothing like what Chinese violins used to be like 30-40 years ago (when they had a reputation for lower quality). Second, this violin, though inexpensive in price, is not "cheap." The tailpiece and fingerboard as well as the chinrest are real ebony; the front is real spruce and the back is real maple. I had all of these aspects confirmed by a professional luthier in my area. I cannot vouch for the quality of wood itself, but the instrument does produce a beautiful sound.Upon arrival, I received everything as stated in the description- full size violin, two bows, chinrest, beginner's book with DVD, tuner, rosin, an extra bridge, and a case. The case is surprisingly sturdy, with a handle and two back straps. The bows are fairly well balanced. I took the advice of several professional violinists and did not attempt to set up this violin myself; I took it to my luthier immediately and had him set it up for me. This involved checking the instrument for flaws, rosining the bows, resetting and adjusting the bridge, and moving one part of the tailpiece slightly. The luthier stated that this is a good violin for the price, and has a very nice sound. I agree! It is easy to play and has good resonance. I look forward to getting quite a bit of enjoyment out of my new violin. Of course this is not a professional level violin, but you really cannot do better for such a low price!
