Strong, stable and seaworthy
I have had this kayak for several years now and I'm still using it. I use this little boat in the open gulf, launching from the beach through the surf, also made a 6 day trip camping on sand bars from Mclain Mississippi on the Leaf river to the Pascagoula river then on down to the Gulf coast ending at Gautier Mississippi. We, (My wife and I) often visit Gulf National Seashore Davis Bayou and Fort Pickens, where we use our kayaks. My kayak is stable, does good through the surf, and carries a good load. It is rated for 500 lbs. I weigh around two hundred. I am 5 feet 7 inches 87 years old and have no trouble loading this yak on top of our van. We often camp on Deer island across from Biloxi Mississippi using our kayaks. I am able to cast my 8 foot cast net while standing up on my kayak. It is a sit on top. My wife has an ocean kayak. It is a good kayak but I like mine better. We are planning a trip to Cat island and the other barrier island this year. We are avid fisher people, and we use our yaks for fishing. If you want to keep up with the crowd, this yak is not as fast as some others, my wife can out run me easily. But I would not trade it for hers.

Check build quality and condition
WARNING: First trip out on the kayak and the boat began sinking. Luckily we got to shore and behold one of the scupper plug holes, with plugs in was letting water in. I removed the plugs and saw the attached image, a gapping hole. Extremely disappointed and could have been very dangerous if i had not noticed the boat becoming unstable. Lets see how this warrenty claim goes.My phone is damaged, keyfob to my car is also damaged.UPDATE: 2 weeks without contact from customer service due to my warranty claim. Unbelievable. Called once per week to follow up (1 hour hold time each time) and am told that I have to wait as they havent gotten to me yet.. in 2 weeks?! Filing a claim with Amazon now.

Found a hole in the hull too late - guess I’m out $500 now
I ordered this in December and had it lying in the garage untouched since then. Pulled it out today to take it to a local lake for the first time and found one spot on the side of the hull where the material looks like it was molten away (see pic). The hole doesn’t go all the way through, but given how deep it is there can’t be much material left and it will most likely break through earlier rather than later.I also found some of the pieces they had cut out bouncing around in the hull.Guess it’s partly on me for not thoroughly checking a brand new Kayak when I got it in December, but still - I got a boat with a hole. Looks like I am out the >$500 I paid for this. Would obviously not recommend buying this - besides the damage, the cut-out pieces flying around in the hull seem to inidcate that QC is apparently non-existent at this manufacturer, or that they just don’t care? However, should you decide to buy anyway make sure to thoroughly check upon arrival - otherwise you might be up for an unpleasent surprise next summer!

I wanted something pretty stable since he has autism and I didn't want ...
I got this kayak to take my son fishing in. The one we had was a one-man and so too cramped for both of us (he is 8). I wanted something pretty stable since he has autism and I didn't want him falling into the water. Like other reviews mentioned on here; this is a very spacious kayak and there more than enough room for both of us (I am 6' 190lb). It is also very stable and so that is perfect. We have been going every weekend now for a month, so here is what I think so far...It is actually pretty easy for me to paddle, maybe because it sits higher in the water than the one we have been using. The paddles are on the small side but that's probably a good thing to help kids learn to row. You can stand up in it but it takes a little co-ordination. As for storage, I bought an egg crate and strapped it on the back with bungee cords, works great. It also had lots of room for your fishing poles, drinks, etc.. That plastic hull seems very solid too. Here are some potential downsides.1) It's heavy, you might want to get something to cart it on. I bought the item often purchased together and it doesn't seem to work that well with this kayak. I tried carrying it by the handle but that started to rip, so now I lug it by grabbing the grooves on the side...a little challenging. I am working on teaching my son to help me carry it and then it won't be an issue.2) It takes a month to get to you.3) I can see how you might want to invest in a better seat. For me it works fine but if you have a bad back or need more padding, that's something to think about.Yesterday, almost pulled a huge bass out of a quarry. It jumped off the hook at the last second, I haven't decided if it was my fault or the kayak's yet ;)But seriously, I actually had one guy yelling questions about it to me from the shore. It's a good kayak that I would recommend to a fisherman who wants some extra room.Chad

Perfect Tandem Fishing Kayak
I love our kayak! I wanted a fishing kayak that I can take my wife in. After an extensive research for a tandem fishing kayak, we decided on this Lifetime Sport Fisher. Needless to say, we made an excellent choice. We've taken it out numerous times to go fishing. We've also added a trolling motor to help us paddle on windy days and against the current. I made my own motor mount (see pics), because the Lifetime mount was around $200 and was hard to find. I'm still sketching out different ways to add accessories on this kayak. It is very versatile. We've even taken out our dog on it and she loves it!

and easily handled by my 11 year old grandson as well
If you are looking for a VERY stable kayak...this kayak is the one you want. I purchased one at a yard sale last year and shortly after that ordered a second one. My friend sold both her kayaks to buy this one. It is stable enough for my son who is over 6 foot and 300 lbs, and easily handled by my 11 year old grandson as well. I just ordered a third one for my family. They don't cut through the water like a smaller kayak because of the triple hull though. Not great if you are looking for speed.
