Wonderful shoes for the slightly above average active person!
I have had a pair of Solomon shoes for hiking that I bought about 4 years ago. They have always fit great, felt awesome all day, and really helped me get around on trails from gravel to rocks. I always have great grip! The way they look has always been a bit... Uh... Utilitarian. Not ugly by any means but not super stylish. They've held up amazing and I still use them all the time. Just recently hiked the whole grand canyon rim with these! When the time came to finally spend some money on everyday shoes, I was racking my head for brands I could trust. I was a fan of Puma sneakers but recently the quality has been kinda trash and I have to replace them like 3x a year.I was happy to see these in all black. They kinda have a Euro sporty look and the same lace-free design that I love about my hiking shoes.Since I have been more active these days I figured a more durable shoe would be better for my needs. They are good looking enough to wear every day but great for the occasional casual 4 mile evening walk. I look forward to many happy months (maybe years?) with these shoes.

Great pair of shoes for every occasion
Great shoes. I bought these for a trip to Australia and did a lot of hiking and walking around. These shoes were very comfortable and versatile for different situations. They provided the support of a hiking boot while looking more like a pair of tennis shoes which was nice for different occasions.

Fantastic Hiking Shoe
Ok, so this was a fairly quick purchase, was looking at the next lower level of these hiking shoes but realized they would arrive too late for my trip to Mt. Rainier for Labor Day weekend.Arrival time was as promised, and package was in tact. Always a good start.I received them on a Thursday,(we were headed out to Mt. Rainier on Friday) I picked them up as soon as I saw they had been delivered. I took them back to work, only a few minutes away. I put them on and was delighted they felt like butter!I was initially skeptical of the speed laces which proved to be unfounded over the next few days.Walking around the office and even through the parking lot at work I could tell how grippy they were going to be.First hike was a short walk around Paradise to Myrtle falls upon arrival at Mt Rainier. My feet felt well supported even with a large amount of the trail paved.Day two, we hiked the Skyline trail, which had more dynamic terrain where I became a fan of the speed laces, adjusting to better fit my foot.Day three we hiked the lower lake (Reflection Lake trail) each day I was impressed that I had no blistering no foot fatigue right out of the box, and it was a comfortable shoe to slip on.I felt really confident in the tread.I haven’t had a chance to get them in real weather yet but will soon as the Pacific Northwest promises each year.Over all very satisfied would buy them again!Happy Hiking

I’m a lifer!
5 stars as always! I just got my 4th pair today, these shoes consistently last me 2 years. I work in landscaping and spend all my spare time in the outdoors. These shoes suit both work with a semi professional and practical look and fun outdoors for their durable build, easy lace up and comfortable feel. Also very water resistant. Can’t go wrong!

Excellent Trail Shoe With One Caveat
I've been using a version of this shoe since the Speedcross 3 back in 2015. Overall quality has been great and the fit/support/performance is excellent. And they look great. I just bought my 5th pair.About me: Size 13; 6' tall; 295 lbs (think ex-linebacker build - I could lose some weight but pretty solid)How I typically use them: fast moving hikes; 5 to 7 miles; 1 to 3 times per week; mixed gravel, dirt/muck, roots, rocks, plenty of slippery leavesThe Speedcross are very (VERY) grippy, which is nice considering the terrain I'm often on. I find the support is decent.Comfort level is very good but I will say on the rare occasions where I'm getting over 8 or 9 miles, I will start to feel it. That could be a factor of my weight as much as the shoe. Absolutely no comfort issues up to that point though. The lacing system is easy to figure out and works really well. I did break a lace on a pair a few years ago and was able to buy a replacement for it which lasted until the shoes wore out. No problemThe caveat? My experience is the soles wear out pretty quickly - especially on the SC6. And especially if you use on sand and/or pavement much - which I've learned to try to avoid. I think this is a direct effect of the grippiness of the soles which, again, is excellent. I've gone back to the SC5 this time (price) but both versions have this issue.Still.... recommended.

Top shelf shoe
Outstanding shoe! Light, looks good, quick to lace/tighten, repels water, aggressive tread, super comfortable.

Still good trail runners
I have been wearing Salomon shoes for about nine years. For me it was a consistent fit. All I all very comfortable. The trail runners offer excellent grip, probaly won’t last on hard pack. Don’t know why on this pair they left the “heel pull loop” off.(far right photo) Wha’s up. The shoe selection is dwindling. Must be the tarrifs.

Decent choice for certain applications
Cons: They fit pretty narrow and the construction is not super durable. Also not a fan of the lace system. Fairly expensive for what they are.Pros: Great traction on loose dirt surfaces, lightweight, breathable.
