Gift for my husband, he loves it.

This digital sign is fantastic. It is much better than I thought it would be. I don't have any good pictures of it on, as when I first got it and tested it at home it was too bright in the house for my phone to pick it up right, it looked bad with my camera. But once I got it to our venue and put it in the window it looked much better, and somehow I forgot to take any pictures of it. I'm using it at our annual event so it is not up all the time. Everyone loved the messages, I would change throughout the day.It comes with a bunch of premade animations, which is great for businesses. But the fun is with making your own messages, and changing colors and such. I used the app on my phone, and not the remote. It clings to glass which makes putting it up anywhere super easy.It is nice and bright, clear and easy to read. It comes with a really long cord to reach an outlet. The size I got was great, not too big, and not too small, it hits that sweet spot.

The iPixel is a well-made programmable color LED display with modest customization options but no support for security or real-time computer control.It comes with a remote which can be used to set canned examples of the sorts of things it can do, not very useful from practical standpoint but it serves as a nice demo out of the box. The smartphone app offers much more control with custom text, graphics, colors, and brightness control. I used the iPhone app; I assume the Android version is similar.The display can be configured as a clock. It keeps pretty good time, drifting maybe a second or so per week in my experience running it in a climate-controlled room. The time can be easily synced by connecting to it with the app. If the display loses power, the clock function is lost and needs to be set up again from the app. The clock is somewhat useful, but offers limited customization. It’s fine if you like the rotating rainbow band around the perimeter.There does not appear to be any official or unofficial support for computer control of the display. Being able to do real-time customization from a computer, laptop, Raspberry Pi, etc., would make this display far more useful.There doesn't appear to be any security for the device. It seems anyone with the remote or the smartphone app can reprogram the device at will, so it has very limited utility in public space.

I ordered the largest size for my business storefront window and it is huge! The materials used are good quality and the sign itself is quite thick with a rubber feel to it, which makes it very flexible. This product functions as intended and with consistency.The pixel count isn't high, but depending on the size of the letters you choose and animations, the sign is very readable close up and at a reasonable distance yards away. The LED light colors are vivid & bright. which my camera didn't pick up well or do the lights justice at all.I got the app from the Google store and found it very easy to use. This product comes with an extra long cord to plug into your preferred source, which I plugged into an outlet. The app has a great selection of special effect options also.Everything was included to set up this sign and, in my opinion, this is a good value for $123.49 (the price at the time of this review); especially with all of the options offered with it. If you don't want to add another app to your phone, you can use the remote only, however, your customization and special effect options are limited. Highly recommend this product.

I like the idea of this, but it could be much better. It looks much better from a distance due to the middling pixel density. The built in animations are fine if basic, but custom animations (what I got this for) don't look good on it. They load in at a weird frame rate, and I haven't been able to fix it on the app. I've been able to get around it by messing with the gifs directly on my computer, but that's a lot of extra work for a lackluster result in my opinion.On the bright side, the LEDs are pretty bright, even in daylight. The sign is really flexible, and I think the build quality seems okay. I like that the cable has a switch, and in general the sign works fine.
