The length of the sheath

The length of the sheath is 61/2". I bought a coleman hatchet and it fits in there good. Where the handle goes into the sheath is a little big so I will have to close that up a little bit. Other then that it is a very nice sheath.

I don't understand how you use this. I don't see an opening for the axe handle. Do you leave it on unsnapped?

You may not see it in the photos, but there is a hole at the bottom for the hatchet handle. Butt of the handle goes in first, the sheath slides up the handle, and the top snaps over the axe head like an envelope.

Can I attach this to my molle gear?

You'll need an adapter in order to attach this sheath to your molle gear. It has a canvas loop with the WWII-style metal fitting to use on an Army pistol belt of that era. They make adapters such as this, which have the two eyelets and fittings for molle. I'm pretty sure they can be found on EBay.

Can it fit a tomahawk

I would guess that it would fit a hawk. the hole for the handle is way too small for an axe handle, even a small forest axe, on account of the design of an axe handle. I would've sent back accept for the cost of shipping. IMO it's a piece of crap.
