Beer Hawk World Lager Beer Advent Calendar - 24 Craft Beer Christmas Selection - Makes a Great Gift

Will update on some of the previous review's I had checked some of the beers for best before dates as some others are saying they are past it however with mine this was not the case the ones I had checked was in dates till mid next year so a good 6 months I had not looked at all of them as I didn't want to spoil the surprise of opening them but the few I looked at was good so I would say they are all in dates nice selection with some top brewerys in there along with a few ones I have not heard of before looks like it's worth the money but I did pick up in the sale Will update further about the rest soon

I brought this for a friend for his birthday, which is just before Christmas. Firstly I should say what a fantastic delivery driver I had that went out of his way to deliver this when we wasn’t in (came back after we missed him).Generally my friend doesn’t use WhatsApp, but each day I get a photo of his advent beer. I’ve never seen so many messages from him 😂. He has absolutely loved this and I think has awoken a bit of his inner children in the joy of opening a advent calendar. So far he was liked each one though I’m sure this isn’t always going to be the case. It has also made him try new beers that he probably wouldn’t have otherwise. Alas this has made me start hinting at my wife I need one next year 🤣

The calendar has a fantastic selection of lagers and has allowed my OH to try many that he wouldn't normally try. I bought it in the Black Friday sale so it was great value for money. The only downside is that the whole top layer was displaced in transit but it was easily remedied by opening the box and putting it right.

This hasn't been opened yet but I just wanted to warn anyone who is buying this as a gift - it clearly says "Beer Experience" and shows it contains 24 bottles of beer on the outside of the box it's delivered in. That's that surprise gift ruined... :(

What a treat!! Having only recently discovered the joys of craft beer I decided to treat myself to Beer Hawk’s Advent Calendar and I cannot wait until day 1! It is a fun way to explore different craft beers while also being economical as it offers great value for money – I know how expensive some craft beers can be!! I feel like a kid at Christmas again, bring on advent!

The advent calendar had a decent variety in terms of strength (4.0% to 8.4%), tastes (pale ales, porters, lagers, a cherry beer and the now-infamous gose or "sour beer") and locations (some imports from America, Germany, Belgium and Japan). Each selection was a standard can or small bottle (e.g. 330ml or 355ml), enough for a decent tasting.A number of customers for this calendar were tracking their day-to-day opinions on Untapp'd, a beer review website. Most of the beers had a respectable lifetime score of 70-75%, four were poorly received and scored 60-65%, and the Gose scored 55% - including two people sharing photos tipping it down the sink!The calendar itself was very sturdy - with a lot of cardboard packing (inside and outside) to ensure safe arrival. Pretty much everything could be recycled, so a positive from an environmental standpoint.The one thing that surprised me with this calendar (and the main reason for the lower rating) is that despite being advertised as a "Premium Craft Beer" calendar, a third of the beers fell into one of two categories:1) commonly available in supermarkets - for half the price2) are brewed by multinational companies such as AB Inbev (Budweiser, Stella Artois)From Untapp'd, I spotted six that were brewed by AB Inbev alone - that seems incredibly lazy given there are thousands of craft breweries in the UK.Overall, for the price I paid (£50 in an Amazon Deal) I enjoyed the experience but will look elsewhere if I do the same for 2018.
