A wonderful little device that is as powerful as you want it to be.
I was a little overwhelmed when I first setup my Home Assistant green. It becomes obvious pretty quickly at how truly powerful this device is. It can be simple and basic if thats what you want. But if you are curious and willing to invest the time, the power at your fingertips will blow your mind. I started with a basic dashboard that displayed the few smart devices that I had, but soon I was diving headfirst into customizing the information that is shown and learning how to make it work with Alexa. Fast forward a year and I now have over 60 devices that is under its control. It works flawlessly and soon you will be installing Hacs and adding integrations that make it work for you. The customization is only limited by your imagination and I find myself tinkering with it daily. It's not work but more of a guilty pleasure. If you pull the trigger and purchase the Home Assistant green you will not regret it!

Awesome product, as powerful and versatile as you want it to be.
I've been looking at home automation for a while, but didn't buy anything because the Amazon and Apple and others require an Internet connection and export your requests to their servers. I look at Home Assistant a while back and I was thinking of doing a Raspberry with the software, but I was too busy so didn't do it. Finally I bought the Green with the Zigbee bridge and a quad set of Amazon Matter smart plugs. Prior to setting it up, I read up on the documentation, maybe two hours all told. I also read up on other people in Internet Forums that are using it for a myriad of applications. I loved the guy who did it so the menus in his tablet change as he walks from room to room of his house... and the guys who actually set them up to control their Home Theaters... Once I got it, it took me all of two hours, playing with it, to set up two of the plugs. It was easy. And then I found out that many of my devices, TVs, WiiM, etc... already support it.. Needless to say, I bought a bunch more plugs and soon will buy the lamps. This thing is extremely powerful and I think you can go very deep into it... Reading the one start reviews... well, clueless people who are over their heads. Simple as that. Again, three things that are superb: (1) No Internet required to run it, it's all done in your own server. (2) Supports several standards. (3) Huge support community. It's not geeky, it just requires Reading The F. Manual. EDIT: BTW, you still need a bluetooth connection to configure some devices, so the use of the phone is essential. I got the software running -off a web interface- on my PC (managing), Android Tablet (every body's control) and my own Android Cell phone. In two days, I set up six lamps in three separate rooms in the house with timed "actions" to turn ON and OFF. The amount of effort that has gone into this is staggering actually. I've barely scratched the surface and the fact that it's not bound to a manufacturer it's awesome. Another thing. make sure your phone and device are on the same WiFi SSID when you bring up a Matter device, it seems like the SSID connection is transferred from the phone to the Matter device over Bluetooth on initial configuration. In my house we have four SSIDs, a mesh and a non mesh, so heads up. The Wired side of Home Assistant Green is faultless, although I might work on giving it a static IP address. By default, all you need to do is plug ethernet and power and wait five minutes. The Zigbee add on took a bit more, but it's all IN THE MANUALS... I can't say this loud enough... with this device, RTFM... There is so much, it's mind boggling.

I can recommend this for beginners into IoT Home Automation
I found it very easy to get going with home automation having this unit. It was worth the extra bit to avoid all the hassle. After a few weeks using it, and installing plug-ins like Node-RED, I can say I'm very happy with this purchase. I would recommend this to my friends and family.

Tricky but reliable and rewarding
They're not kidding when they say this will be your new hobby. Open a browser window on your computer and another with AI to walk you through because you will NEVER figure it out by trial and error. That said, it works wonderfully and has tons of software/hardware integrations. I was able to take my many non-Apple devices and get them working great with Apple Home thanks to the Homekit Bridge on this device. It's a process but once it's done you can Siri-operate every device you have.

Powerful Smart Home Hub with Endless Possibilities
I’ve been using Home Assistant Green at my yoga studio, and it’s been excellent. The initial setup took a little time, especially connecting and configuring all of my devices, but once everything was up and running, it worked beautifully. I use it to automate lighting, climate control, and other smart devices throughout the studio, and it’s been reliable and responsive. What I appreciate most is that everything runs locally and can be customized exactly the way I want it. If you’re willing to spend a bit of time on setup, Home Assistant is an incredibly powerful platform that gives you far more flexibility than most off-the-shelf smart home systems. Highly recommended for anyone who wants full control over their smart home or business automation.

Magic at your fingertips, 1, 2, 3.
The product came as advertised. Well packaged and appealing. Easy to install and this is really plug and play. A nice touch is the power plug section which has adapters for most countries so no additional adapters required. Connectivity to current systems and discovery of devices within the home is like magic, when you look it is there. For beginners it is well worth noting that you may have to connect your ESPHome device directly to the Home Assistant Green hub, to flash the ESP for the first time. It does not seem to compile for the USB device on your computer. All in all a really great product

Worst piece of tech I've ever introduced into my smart home
I have an incredibly robust smart home which is mostly Matter/Thread devices and this seemed like a good next step in my adventures to automate and create cool dashboards, while still allowing the family to use Apple Home as their frontend but after two days of fighting with getting a small sample size of my hundreds of devices onboarded, I ultimately gave up. Anyone who says this is rock solid clearly isn't leveraging Matter or Thread in their smart home setup. I have encountered very few issues with my Thread network composed of Apple TVs, Homepod Minis, and a few Aqara cameras and hubs with hundreds of endpoints and FTDs over the years but the second I set this up, it wrecked the entire Thread. TBRs started creating new networks and hopping around, tearing down communications and never healing. I removed it from the equation and everything cleared up near-instantly. Other than a few Matter bridges, I was never able to get a single Matter over WiFi device to join this using multi-admin. It's a cool concept and it works really well integrating with a few APIs and Cloud accounts, but it is very limited in what you can onboard that way, even with community support. This is absolutely not designed for the modern smart home and shouldn't even be advertising Matter support with the way it is haphazardly put together. To be fair, if my house had all Zigbee instead of Thread, this review might be written completely different. This is also far from the easiest way to set things up, so if you're not tech literate and just getting started out, steer well clear. Very disappointed tech addict over here.

The ultimate smart home solution, and the easiest way of setting it up
I like to consider home assistant the god of smart home hubs, and so far it is. There’s tons of things you can do, and any compatible devices (which includes a lot) can work together seamlessly. As far as connectivity goes, it connects to your home network with Ethernet, requiring no wireless setup, and from there can run everything locally. This results in almost instant response times from automations, not to mention the amount of flexibility you get when setting those automations up to begin with. Yes, this may be a pricy way of setting up a smart home, but so far it’s been worth it.

Great hardware, powerful Home Assistant experience!
After years of relying on Alexa for basic smart home control, I wanted something more capable - better integrations, real automation, and full control over my setup. Home Assistant delivers all of that and then some. It’s incredibly powerful (more than I expected), with a huge range of tools and customisation options - including raw configuration and advanced editors. I can see why some people say you need a degree to use it. I’m fairly technical, but still needed some help from ChatGPT to set up certain integrations and write custom configurations. Important: Make sure your Home Assistant Green is running Home Assistant OS, not Home Assistant Container. Mine arrived with Container, which is a stripped-back version intended for advanced users running Docker. It lacks add-on support and makes setup more complex. Home Assistant OS provides the full experience, including access to add-ons and much easier management. Since the Green is designed for HA OS, it’s a bit odd that mine came with Container. Fortunately, Home Assistant OS was very easy to install via a microSD card loaded with the correct package. The "Green" hardware itself is excellent - completely silent and runs very smoothly One of the biggest advantages is device integration and centralised management. I’ve been able to bring everything together in one place, including lighting, smart plugs, and even my Annke IP cameras (using Hikvision integration). Having everything unified in a single system makes automation far more useful than managing devices separately across different apps. The one integration I had some difficulty with was Eufy. I’m using the E340 video doorbell on battery power, which means you can’t leave the stream running continuously without draining it. To work around this, I manually call the camera.turn_on and camera.turn_off services so the camera only activates when needed. It works well once set up, but it’s something to be aware of if you’re using battery-powered devices. The only caveat is that remote access and voice assistant integration typically require a Home Assistant Cloud subscription. However, if you’re willing to invest some time, there are free alternatives. I set mine up using Cloudflare and a custom Alexa skill, so the only ongoing cost is a domain (around £8/year). I was initially planning to use Cloudflare Zero Trust option for additional protection, but it breaks too many Home Assistant integrations. Fortunately, Home Assistant has robust MFA built in. It’s been a learning curve, but absolutely worth it.

Hub domotico
