Great radio all around
By far the best dual bander for the money!! Oh wait .... It's got 7 bands!!! This radio is pro status with pro feel and does not feel like a cheaply built baofeng , it's got exceptional range and audio and does not break the bank , comes with 2 antennas one of them being high gain and it's clear on all my repeaters , great feel , great radio and greater shipping , I got it 3 days early !!! If I lost it today I would definitely buy it again Tommorow!

Great beginners unit
Wanting to start to learn Ham Radio, this is my second radio that I purchased. I initially purchased the Baofeng like I'm sure many do, but, immediately ran into a few issues with that unit and knew it wasn't going to be what I was going to want to keep, so the Baofeng went back, and this was the replacement. As noted: the scan speed is very slow, slower than the Baofeng, and MUCH slower than a Yaesu FT-7800. One thing I do like on this unit is the audio receive quality is excellent!!! In some cases I'd say I'm experiencing that the unit has clearer audio reception than the Yaesu that I also have.My only concern is that I have to REALLY talk into the mic to have the audio come across - I wish I could adjust the mic gain.I do wish the unit had CHIRP support, as I REFUSE to support RTSystems software model (where you have to buy the $50 application and cable for each radio you own) and the manufacturers software is a bit clunky, but, it does work. Hint: Vendors - push Wouxun to help Chirp Developers add support!!!! It would be greatly appreciated by many many people!!!!!I've tried it with both a Diamond Diamond (Original) SRH77CA 144/440 MHz. Dual-Band High Gain Handheld Antenna Rx: 120~900 MHz. (Gain: 440 Mhz. 2.15 dBi, Max Power: 10 Watts, Length: 15") SMA and the included antennas - the included antenna's work fine for the local repeaters, but, the gain and distance I can achieve with the Diamond is impressive. Outside I can hit a repeater 80 miles away thats on a mountain top.Verified with an SWR meter that output wattage is just about perfect to spec!!** I did not get this item for free so I could write a 5 Star review, I paid for it with my own funds.

Not so - Great little radio
Great little radio. I really like the feel of this radio. It's quite ergonomic and sturdy. While not made of metal or submersible, it does feel like quality plastic construction and will handle brief contact with water. The color display is a bit dim outdoors, but it's very clear. Performance is pretty good even with the stock antenna. I love that this radio has two receivers and can do true dual watch. It's easy to quickly change between primary and secondary frequencies and to mute them without having to manage odd key combinations. The extra side buttons can be programmed for many different tasks including secondary PTT. Switching between memory and VFO is accomplished without turning off the radio and last channel/frequency is remembered when changing bands and after power off. The knobs and buttons provide really solid feedback. Battery life is pretty good too with a single charge lasting several days of both monitoring and transmitting. Even though I also own the more expensive Yaesu VX-6R, this radio has become my daily driver.EDIT: After a year of occasional use, the stock battery has died. The last full charge only lasted about 15 minutes and the charging base now rejects it altogether. I understand that batteries offer limited lives, but a new battery should last more than a year and a dozen charge/discharge cycles. Removing 1 star. I still highly recommend this radio, but now you need to factor in the cost of a spare battery.EDIT -After having this radio for several years, I still really love the radio itself. However, the batteries will randomly stop charging and shows charging error at some point. I have had 6 factory original batteries for this radio and 3 have failed. Completely unacceptable at this price point. In a matter of a couple years, I've spent as much on replacement batteries as it cost to buy this premium radio. I have to take my 4 star review down to 1.

but it is very good for the price
Scan speed is a bit slow, and the receiver isnt as refined as the one in my Yaesu VX-7r, but it is very good for the price. The display is quite wonderful and the quick button to go from duplex to simplex is a very nice feature. I find myself using this Wouxun quite frequently, though if Im going somewhere that radio comms could be paramount to my rescue (solo backpacking) I tend to choose the Yaesu just for its known ruggedness vs the unknown of the wouxun.

Worthy each penny spent....
Solid quality. Well built. I'm not ready to say anything about the software or how easy it is to program it and after I try that I'll review my comment. I connected with the repeater without any problem. You can have the repeater TX freq. in one band and the RX in another band. works perfectly without frq. shifting!!! I can assure you this radio is a high end quality as many other such as Yaesu, Kenwood and Icon. Also, SANATOP, the seller has a great quality client support. They are "the seller Class a++++" ! No BS nor regrets! Worthy each penny spent....

Battery Connections
I purchased this in November 2018. I use this radio for Fire Service when I put the radio in the charging cradle the battery developed a hole in it where one of the positive connections connect to the charging cradle. I have submitted a questions to Wouxon to see if they will warranty the battery.

Great little HT.
Great little HT. I use mine all the time and love the fact that while assisting at air shows I can monitor both our local repeater as well as the control tower frequency. It is small and light weight. The battery could last a little longer, but that is the only fault I can find with it. You will probably need to purchase programming software for it. Chirp does not support it and I never could get the included software to communicate with the radio.
