This is a scam ! the huge discount is simply because this batch is faulty. please look at other recent reviews. amazon does not give returns but refers you to the manufacturer, without giving contact details. the number and email of the manufacturer do not respond. what is shocking is that with the number of complaints recently, Amazon still continues to promote this product without taking any responsibility. No doubt the product is basically a good one, but equally without doubt this batch with the mega discount is simply faulty and will have to be put in the dustbin. So beware ! ......... TWO WEEKS LATER : Recently, some 2 weeks after being told that Amazon could not take a return, they have finally agreed to take it back. That is to their credit. Whoever initiated the 'new policy' - in India !- of not accepting returns for internal faults, without properly informing customers, should realise that online purchases depend on trust. we used to have faith in Amazon and used it a lot : we hope to regain that trust.

This is a pretty awesome bluetooth speaker. But keep in mind it has a retro muted type of sound signature. It was designed for this, so keep this in mind also when buying. If you compare this with a traditional one from other brands, you might not like it. And I feel thats why a lot of negative reviews have come in. For volume this is sufficient. We keep this in the kitchen and it serves its purpose. Overall the sound can be described as a “bassy & muted”. Its like the sound comes out of tube/ tunnel. I remembered my old Panasonic boombox style stereo cassette player. One thing to note is - whatever the volume you set this to - on switching it on, it starts up at full volume with an introductory message “Powering On”. So you can’t switch it discretely. Overall I would recommend this at this price point. But I do still say that it’s not for everyone.

Great.. Sound.. But with not so loud as compare to 40 watt

I purchased Retroamp Z40 couple of days back and this is completely garbage product, mode button provided on top panel that changes modes like FM, USB, Aux etc is not working. I tried replacing with another one but that has also same problem and seems like their entire lot of this particular product is faulty that's why they are selling it on big discount. Another common thing that I noticed is the low sound, it doesn't feel like a 60watt speaker, even my phone speaker has the better sound than this one. Also, when you shake the speaker in hand then some strange sound will come that seems like something has come loose and fallen inside it. So, now I don't want another replacement and going to return this speaker or you can say just a fancy box "Dabba".

I was looking for a mid range reference desk speaker to run my masters from my home studio. The speaker has a very well balanced midrange response with enough saturated bass and highs. Try playing retro, vinyl, 80s 90s music through it like Elvis, Kishore Kumar, Indian classical, Thumri tracks and you will love it. Look wise quite well adapted to the working desk. The karaoke input has a built-in auto reverb. A small knob to control the same would have made it complete. Liking it overall with respect to overall sound response at this price range.
