Persona3 Movie 1 [Standard Edition] [Blu-ray]

Amazing little flick.While it's nothing new - i always thought having an Anime based off a game was slighly the wrong way around.I love Atlus though and recently gave Devil Survivor 2 the Anime a go - i was impressed by it's quality production values.After that I was suddenly pretty interested in Anime's based offa games.I got Disgaea and then P3 - I have all of the P4 anime on the shelf in waiting to be watched.I literally just finished watching this film it's a cool film based off a game.I'm totally fine with this being sub only.The art and story were great - I look forward to watching the other 3 films as well.As many have already said here - like the game, you'll like the Anime.I also think if you just enjoy Anime - this is a great watch and it's not entierly improbable that you'd like to try a Persona game after seeing this.I need to try Daganronpa next!!!By the way the other game animes i mentioned were also all solid and worthwhile watches imo.P3 movie 1 is a cool film ...(I dig the reversible cover art.)Good times.8/10Thanks. Amazing film.Having played the game I can see some of the differences but it didn't matter. It was very well done from the pace to the length. I can't wait for the others to come out physically. It's a shame it took 3 years to get it on DVD. The other thing that disappointed me was that there was no english dub, I actually thought there would be since it took so long to get here.It doesn't really matter but an option would have been good. Also the menu is just silent, no instrumental of the amazing music from the series, there's not even movement, I would have added something, even if it was just the background of the picture moving -_-It's the little things that could have made it way better and worth the wait. That's all.After watching this, I think I'll search for my PSP and play the game again.

Has English subtitles, really close to the plot of the game - if you liked the game you'll like this!

Just the movie, Japanese with English sub. Nothing extra and mostly made for the Persona 3 fans.

The DVD contains Japanese audio with English subtitles, no dub.The length is 99 minutes, with some footage after the credits.The movie is a faithful adaption of the Persona 3 videogame. It starts with the characters being introduced with the Burn my Dread song playing, before cutting to Makoto Yuki(They named the hero), arriving in Iwatodai via train. Soon enough the Dark Hour happens and he makes his way to the Dorm in a relatively calm manner. If you remember from the game when the dorm is attacked by the first "trial" shadow, this is all here, including the awakening of Orpheus.If you're hoping for the various videogame soundtracks, they're all here. Including the battle themes when battling the various shadows inside of Tartarus. The animation is really impressive in these scenes too.For any fans of the Persona 3 game who are wondering. The movie concludes after the rescue of Fuuka Yamagishi.

The Movie is great however from the other reviews and the price I was under the impression this was the collectors edition with CD and Artbook this was sadly not the case. As such I feel this item is over priced.
