Easy, fast and strong.
Effortless set up. It is my main router connected with a 2.5G backhaul Ethernet cable to my BT6. For me it is a really user friendly interface. No dead spots in my house anymore. I actually had to turn down the transmit power as it was overpowering everything to clean up the signal and got even faster speeds. No issues with dropped connections. Just be sure to update the firmware on the main router and Node as it appears to have fixed some earlier issues. I highly recommend it.

The firmware is finally stable
Asus has finally stabilized the firmware for the bt8/be14000. If you are coming from xt8/xt9, you may need one more node than you're used to depending on your layout and environment. These seem way more affected by physical barriers than those older ones on all frequencies.

Works great with OpenWrt 25.12
Flashed the latest OpenWrt when I got this, which was 25.12.4. Process was straightforward. Needs a workaround to enable 6ghz band, but that's an OpenWrt issue. Stability is solid. Signal seems better than the Banana Pi R4 that I used previously.

Router isn't recognized
Big disappointment. App would not recognize the router via camera/code on bottom of router or via manually setting up by choosing the router in settings. The app simply "tried" to connect but wouldn't. Maybe it's my iPhone 15, maybe it's the router. Ended up returning the router.

Fast, reliable, and super easy to install
I got this system mainly for the coverage and speed, but what caught me off guard was how smoooooth the setup was. Opened the box, plugged it into the modem, opened the app - All done. I’m not super technical, but once I dug into the settings, I found a ton of stuff in there for if you want to customize every little setting. I’ve got different networks set up for my office and a guest WIFi for when friends come over. Signal’s strong all over the house, and I haven’t had to reboot or troubleshoot anything since. For something this advanced, it’s way more user-friendly than I expected.

Great WiFi 7 Router - Blazing fast
I wasn't expecting a huge upgrade but I do like my previous Asus router so I gave this product a shot. It turned out way better than my expectations. The connecting speed and latency on my latest Wifi 7 laptop worked flawlessly. All of my other devices which demand high bandwidth all seems to work great (if not better). No dropping on IoT devices or connected home applience. I've read that some have competibility issues but not in my case. After all a great router from Asus.

Easy setup, good range, but crappy child filters and ancient UX
Love the idea of full control over Wifi and I had high hopes for this product, but sadly it's just not an improvement. Child filters don't work well: generic categories only with no ability to allow or block specific websites by device, and the generic categories don't work well - streaming filter for a child's specific device, for example, doesn't block YouTube (nor do any of the other pre-built filters, and custom site filters aren't supported by device). The web interface feels like it's from the 1990s. On the plus side the Wifi range is much better than Eero 7, for example, but the lacking features and generally antiquated UI outweigh any improvement in radio range. Setup was seamless, so if you don't need device-level content filters or advanced features and are looking for a good range Wifi 7 option this could be a great choice, but if you're looking for granular control over your devices and filters, this device won't give you that.

so darn fast
using this on AT&T gigabit fiber when I was using Eero 6e Pro, it was having problems with pass-through mode for some reason I really dont like how restrictive the firmware of Eero has become after everythign is about subscription to access ASUS keeps it open and lots of functions to adjust in firmware ASUS BT8 has been reliable so far speed is incredibly fast, and the 2.5G ports on the back is great reliable so far using it for just one region for now, testing it out, will be adding more nodes soon.

Almost listened to the other mixed reviews, glad I didn't! Fast and reliable system!
Great system, moving from an Orbi RBK852 system that we've had for a while, but struggled with reliable hand-off of my iPhone as well as some dead zones. System was a bit laggy and unreliable in the beginning as in some of the other reviews. That said, once we got the ethernet backhaul connected (home is wired with cat5E) in a start topology (series would probably be fine as well), turned on ethernet backhaul mode on, and QoS for gaming or work from home, the system has been great, reliable, with good speeds, connection, and reasonable range. We have a total of 4 of these units to cover our home. App is easy to use, and web interface has oodles of configuration options for pro users. Strongly recommend, specially for those comfortable with network tech (or has a friend who is)

Performance
This Router works very well. Very stable with excellent wifi on 2.4 and 5 Ghz bands with wifi7 protocol enabled. 6 Ghz band is very fast in short ranges (< 50 feet) but I noticed that this band has limited range before it weakens and becomes unusable. Lots of useful features otherwise.

The best OpenWRT router
This is the best OpenWRT router out there. All 3 bands work, 2.5Gbps on the 6Ghz band, ft/roaming works seamlessly with usteer. I can't speak about stock firmware but OpenWRT on this thing is 5/5.

No range
Pros: Very easy set up, looks fine Cons: range is extremely poor. It's worse than my ISP modem. 6ghz cannot connect more than 1 room over and and 5ghz cannot connect more than 2 rooms over. If you have an apartment, this might work but for any other house, you may as well use the garbage your ISP gives you since it will be a lot better than this router. Extremely disappointed
