I've tried nearly all the patches. When I hit the Icy Hot Max patches I was psyched. There's nothing better than lidocaine and menthol. It's by far the best out there in my opinion. I usually rub the affected area down with Icy Hot Max cream, let it dry then apply the patch. They are sticky, as much as most others. I always tape or wrap the patch so it doesn't accidentally take a break. Good stuff for the cash, it's easy to use and it helps stop the pain, most importantly. I put one on at night and I can still feel 'heat' from it in the morning. I wish they'd make the large patches in Max.

Better than others. Excellent adhesive and application process. It has an ingredient which seems to add healing speed (menthol based) to the lidocaine. Hope the patches have at least several HOURS of pain RELIEF more than others.

Pro: These really provide relief. Con: They don’t adhere to the back very well. It kept Rolling up, luckily it can sort of be unrolled and reapplied.

I’ve tried a lot of patches for back and shoulder pain, and these are one of the stronger ones I’ve used. The lidocaine helps numb the area and takes the edge off the pain within about 20–30 minutes. The patch itself is large enough to cover most of my lower back, and it sticks well without peeling up, even if you’re moving around. The scent is noticeable when you first put it on but not overwhelming, and it fades after a while. The material is flexible and feels comfortable under clothes, though I wouldn’t recommend wearing it with tight fabrics since the edges can show. Pros: strong numbing effect, stays in place, large coverage area. Cons: a little pricey for how many you get, and the cooling sensation doesn’t last as long as I’d like. Overall, these are great if you need targeted relief for back, shoulder, or joint pain, especially when you don’t want to take more medication.

As much as I tend to avoid writing unfavorable reviews, I want to advise those looking for pain relief that this product may not live up to expectations. I have been experiencing chronic pain, and was anxious to find a product that I believed would be helpful. I researched numerous items, and decided on these Lidocaine patches in hopes of relieving my pain. The patches, unfortunately, are very thin and flimsy, and do not readily adhere to the skin. In fact, they shifted frequently, and would lift and fold over upon themselves, leaving the painful areas untreated. Any movement easily displaced the patches, as they virtually fell off and had to be searched for beneath my clothing. They are only 4% Lidocaine, and the alleged therapeutic benefit is veritably non existent. I'm a registered nurse, and for the price this is a poor quality product. Continue reaearching, as I am, to find something better to resolve your pain. Best of luck!

These patches help me with the shoulder, neck and migraine pains I get when I sit at the computer 7-10 hours a day 5X a week. The pain comes from being hunched over staring at the screen and getting stressed out, and using these patches work QUICKY to calm the pain almost immediately, but also over several hours. Sometimes I will sleep with them on and wake up more refreshed and relieved, definitely makes a BIG difference! The feeling is cooling but also like a stinging that feels good...does not hurt, but more soothing non-massage. Each package comes with 5 pieces inside, and each measures 1.75 x 5.94 x 5.13 inches --- enough to cover where you need it. For really tough days, I'll put one on each shoulder/neck area. A+ recommend.
