Retro 90s sports styling, huge legibility, and bulletproof utility
If you love the rugged, utilitarian aesthetic of vintage digital tools but want modern module performance, the Casio AE-1600H Series is an absolute standout. It positions itself somewhere between a classic G-Shock and a refined sports timer, giving you immense capability on the wrist without feeling overly bulky. One of the best watches money can buy in this category. The Unique Three-Layer Display: The visual layout is the main event here. Inspired by 1990s sports graphics, the upper section features two tracking bars and a circular dial dedicated entirely to sub-segment stopwatch functions (1/20 second, 10-second, and 1-minute tracking). Below that, the primary time digits are massive, incredibly crisp, and easy to read at a quick glance while running or working. Front-Mounted LED Illuminator: Casio got the ergonomics right by placing a dedicated light button directly on the front face below the screen instead of hiding it on a side pusher. The amber LED backlighting spreads evenly across the entire LCD panel, providing excellent low-light legibility without burning excessive power. Set It and Forget It Durability: Packing a 10-year estimated battery life and 100 meters (10 ATM) of water resistance, this watch is built to be an absolute tank. You can take it swimming, trail running, or wrenching in the garage without a second thought. The resin case absorbs impacts well, and the lightweight 90-gram design keeps it effortless on the wrist all day. The Rally Strap Design: The black resin band features a dual-hole alignment. This provides two massive benefits: it provides a much more secure fit that won't easily slide around during heavy movement, and it allows for fine-tuned, comfortable adjustments to match varying wrist sizes perfectly.

Great Watch When You Don't Want to Worry About Your Watch
I bought the Casio AE-1600H specifically for working on cars, doing yard work, and other jobs where I don't want to worry about banging up one of my nicer watches. It's been perfect for that role. The display is large, clear, and extremely easy to read at a glance, which is exactly what I want when I'm actually working on something rather than admiring the watch on my wrist. It's comfortable, practical, inexpensive, and with a 10-year battery, there's very little to think about. Put it on, beat it up, and get to work. This is exactly the kind of watch Casio does exceptionally well. If you want a durable everyday work watch that's easy to read and you don't have to baby, the AE-1600H is an easy five stars.

This is an excellent Casio choice for reasons of cost and functionality
I have somewhere around 20 to 25 Casio watches don't ask me why. And certainly don't ask my wife. All I have to do is remind her that she has an entire closet full of black shoes. I really like this watch a lot. A couple of things that I like about it so much is that one it's inexpensive compared to most of my others that are Casio. Secondly I would say that I love the larger screen with the larger numbers because I don't have to throw my glasses on to figure out what time it is I would also say the buttons are very easily pressed and it looks like a square but you're not paying for a square but it looks like one. And it is obviously my night time watch. The reason being is that it's super lightweight easy to read the light is great and so if I wake up in the middle of the night I just have to hit a button and I know the time. Unlike some of my other casios where you got to get your fingernail just right and press as hard as you can to get that little button to click. You won't find that with this watch and I would also add that it really is a nice looking Casio

Very easy watch to use and see.
I just got this watch today. Excellent watch for me. Great value price. Im legally blind and low vision and it's very easy to read and I set it without the instruction booklet because I have other Casio watches. Being retired it should hold up very well. No rotating bezel to loosen up. I recommend this watch for anyone who watch that's simple and easy to use and set. The backlight is dim but it's fine for me.

A great watch for daily wear
A great watch for the money. One of Casio’s most legible offerings and one of the few watches I can use without my readers. This watch is very lightweight despite its size, and features those functions you’re most likely to use on the daily, such as stopwatch, timer, dual time and multiple alarm options. Plus, the battery last for TEN YEARS, so it’s practically maintenance free.

some trepidation
I have had a timex ironman essential for several years. It has always gained 20 seconds a month. I have replaced the battery in it 3 times. It is coming up on another battery replacement. I am concerned the o ring seal might start leaking. The watch has about 10mm height digits. I have an old casio that has small digits and I was trying to find a casio that would not be bulky and have large digits. I am far sighted and need large digits to see close without glasses. The ones that seemed that way is the casio AE1500H and AE1600H. From pictures they looked rather bulky and thick. I went with the AE1600H in the tan color. I ordered an amazon renew since it was lots cheaper. I chose the 1600h due to the square look thinking the round shape may be wider. I had trepidation due to the thickness and was considering sending it back before it arrived. I stumbled on two other casio's that may work One was the w800h and the w221h. These are fairly new watches from my understanding also. The digit size is 1-2mm smaller than the 1600h. The 1600h arrived and I took it out of its case and strapped it on. Yes it fills up the width of my wrist, but it does not seem to thick even though it is thicker than any other watch I have. It does not seem to impede my wrist movement any different than any other watch. The main digit height measures ~10mm, the small digits are 1/4 of that or less. I was concerned about the viewing of the tan/kahki face but it is quite viewable and is not a concern. The light seems to be rather good illumination. Still is a larger thicker watch, but I seem to have a liking to it. I am 5' 11" around 175 lbs. So if you are about my size or larger this watch may work. The other casio's I mentioned are wide also so may not work for narrow wrists but do have larger digits. I do not know how well it holds time but other casio usually are only 1-2 seconds change a month. I have only had this for one day. For some reason I like it which is rather surprising. All I need is a basic watch with time and date. It kind of grew on me once I strapped it on.

Great big digit watch
Excellent watch for people that love big digits. This watch is easier to read than some of my gshocks, it has huge digits on the face that are easily readable at any angle. The dual orange LED backlight makes it easy to see the time in the dark especially with the center button. Would recommend this watch

Works fine, and not a theft magnet
Great simple watch for telling time without having to pull out a phone. I actually prefer this classic cheap *appearance* because it's less likely anyone would want to steal it from you (looks like a $6 Walmart generic watch I bought years ago lol, which for anti-theft purposes is a good thing). Functionality is fine, numbers are big enough to read even for old eyes, backlight is a bit dim but adequate.

Well design colour and affordable price
I used Casio Mudmaster for my work which is little big ,so I was looking for light well designed and I got eye on AE-1600H perfect budget price for 10years battery with varieties of colours.I am using watch sun protection film so digits are little blur you may use 9H film for clear display.
