I recently picked up a new espresso machine - the HiBrew H10B. It's a great espresso machine so far, but there is not much room for taller coffee mugs between the base and the portafilter. I picked up this portafilter so I could fit larger cups in the machine, as well as try to improve my espresso game. The bottomless filter lets you see the espresso as it exits the basket and will make it easier to see if your crema is coming out as expected. I gotta say, this is a much nicer portafilter than I expected. It has quite a bit of heft and weight to it - even more than the stock portafilter that came with my machine. Even my wife commented how nice it felt in her hand when she picked it up to wash it. The filter basket is very tight but does come out with a bit of force. My magnetic portafilter funnel works well with the filter too (not so with my old Delonghi portafilter). In case you're not aware, there are several different coffee machines on the market right now that use the exact same portafilter, including the HiBrew H10B, Casabrews CM5418, and I think the small Gevi espresso machine. Basically, if you have a 51mm portafilter with 3 tabs, there's a good chance this will work for you.

The worst product ever. No matter how much coffee or pressure I put, is always a mess. It spills coffee all over the place.

I got this portafilter for my Brewmann espresso machine and it fits perfectly. The portafilter that came with that machine was light and cheap and didn't work great. This portafilter holds in the basket very snuggly and the basket never falls out. I've had issues with prior portafilters having the basket fall out or stick to the espresso machine when you remove the portafilter. The espresso puck falls out easily and the portafilter is really easy to clean. The basket that comes with the portafilter is a perfect double-shot basket and can hold 18 grams of espresso grinds. The holes are evenly disbursed and they provide a smooth flow out of the basket. The holes are small enough that no grinds fall through into the cup. The holes are of excellent manufactured quality and are smooth with no rough edges. Overall, the portafilter works perfectly and is significantly simple to use.
