What is the difference between the Sig sor52001 and sor52010?

That is a darn good question. I poked around Sig's site and my answer would be "almost nothing" - except for the "tread" printing on the riser mount. Everything else seems to be identical. I do own both and the first 52010 I bought from Amazon a couple weeks ago was DOA as the dot was not connected to the adjuster screws. I got another one and no issue. I think you're safe either way.

Will this see infrared light ?

According to the Sig Manual it states that it has 8 daytime and 2 NV (night vision) settings. So in theory it should. I, however have not tried it, since I do not own any infrared equip. lights etc.
