So I shopped around for a speaker that could do bluetooth as well as charge and pass audio through USB. This one claims to be able to do that, and I read at least one review where the person made that claim, but mine simply does not work for audio through USB -- charging only.I appreciate good sound more than most people, although I'm far from an audiophile. This is for use at my desk with a 23-inch LCD fed by a MacBook Pro 2017, so I just want computer sounds/alerts and audio from an occasional youtube video. I'm disappointed to report the audio does not work through the USB -- the USB seems to be designed for power only. I did connect the 3.5mm audio out to an inexpensive USB audio adapter, and audio through USB works that way, so that is what I am doing. I don't want to use bluetooth at my desktop because sometimes there are connection issues and the like, and with the 2017 MacBook Pro, I have everything (HDMI/USB hub/power) all plugged into a USB-C hub, so only have to connect one cable to my MacBook for times I take it to and from my desk (about once a week). Bluetooth has been unreliable for audio reconnects in the past, so I just want a wired connection.I haven't tested the battery life of the speaker, but the volume is more than adequate for an office setting. I even used the speaker for a class of 10 preschoolers to accompany/lead them singing Christmas carols to a group of seniors at a retirement home, and the speaker performed well for this task, which was in a large gathering room. I paired the iPhone easily on the spot. The next day I used this for two Christmas parties to play background instrumental Christmas music. It also performed wonderfully for that.Bass is a little lacking on this speaker, but for my application, I actually prefer that, because spoken audio is better with lack of bass. And I play this at lower volumes, where bass isn't really even required. When I turned it up to accompany the singing, the quality was good.All in all this is worth its price (I saved a little on lightening deal) and I would buy again, but I am docking a star because it does not pass audio through USB like I was lead to believe.

Bought this speaker to hook up with our projector and mainly used for volunteer classes. Box came with attachments and also has a remote. Very solid built. When you wire up to your laptop or projector, use the remote search function and it will sync after the Bluetooth announcement. Sound not too loud but good for a small enclosed room, a movie, or a brief where quiet is present. Overall, we love this product due to its compact and light weight making it east to carry. Have not used the Bluetooth function yet but has other hookup options in the back.

This unit does work the way expected. All types of connection work, but the Bluetooth is rather weak. I was a little disappointed in the volume of sound it produces, but it is fine in the small room that I am using it in. I would not use it for a television speaker or to reach a large audience.

I think mines broken it refuses to work

I loved the easiness of getting it working and the sound quality. I am not, but I was angry when my computer only worked with headsets for this *** gaming situation going on worldwide. I was speaking to an old so-called friend, who told me about external speakers. I went to Amazon immediately and ordered the first thing I saw, knowing if I did not like it, I would throw it away and go somewhere else, but it was so great It restored my liking for Amazon, and rave about this product (external Speaker). You can't go wrong with it.

Sound quality as a speaker is very good for video calls. Also good for background music while I work. The built in microphone is not as good as the one in my webcam, no noise cancellation, a bit muffled. The USB-DAC works very well. One usb cable supplies power and audio connection. The device appears on your computer as "USB 2.0 Audio" device. Speaker and microphone work without A/V cable. The USB cable that came with the unit was either very low quality or designed for charging only. USB-DAC did not work until I substituted my own cable. Bluetooth connection seems to work fine. Volume control knob is a bit "mushy" feeling, but works fine. I'm using this with both Windows 10 and Linux (Fedora 32) with no issues.

I planned to use this in front of my new Dell monitor and listen to music while connected via. Bluetooth. I'm returning it due to a very annoying blue LED light that flashes once every second - constantly! I can't imagine the distraction trying to work with this light flashing in my face for hours. I was hoping that it was a feature to notify of a low battery. According to their manual, this is not true.I posted a picture of the manual. One may or may not be enthusiastic about the fact that if you use this plugged in (not on Bluetooth) you get to see a steady blue LED instead of flashing. Personally, I think flashing is WAY worse, and have put tape over LED lights if I'm using them in the bedroom. They interfere with sleep. Anyway, you may want to see how the product is going to work before purchasing.If the company would do two simple things, it would be an improvement:1) Test with real users, doing real things. Example: use in Bluetooth mode with the speaker sitting in the expected position (under and in front of monitor). Test in different ambient light levels.2) Have the manual translated by a fluent English speaker, or at least have a person who's first language is English help edit. This is not costly or difficult. When it's not done, it's obvious, and reflects poorly on the product.Positives: - sound quality is OK for the price - design is visually aesthetic
