Rubie's Men's The Hobbit Gandalf Costume

Great costume, it was as described. My son loved wearing it it was comfortable and breathable. Highly recommend this costume.

I read other reviews and was a bit concerned about the hat before I ordered it. Yes it is made of a foam fabric and is not high quality but I didn't want to spend a lot. I thought it was fine. I took it out of the package right away and stuffed it with some tissue paper and let it sit for a few days . This took out the wrinkles. When my son wore it I left a couple of pieces of tissue in it so it kept its shaped. It looked great. He got lots of compliments ( went to comic con) it was fine and I'd buy it again. The robe was good and overall I was pretty happy ( and so was he) with it. I'd purchase again for sure.

The whole costume (I got the beard, wig, costume and Gandalf's staff), worked great.It looks and feels nice. And yes, it is warm ... so I would suggest wearing a dark grey t-shirt and shorts underneath; and the whole thing made me hot, I often lowered my beard too. Also the materials are synthetic/ man made, so they do not breather well either.Lastly, you are paying under $50 for a costume, this is great for the price.Do not expect natural materials (like wool, leather belt etc.). If you really want a nice costume, then you are looking at $150-$200 with the nice woolen hat (Oh I would love that).

This item does not have a nice bushy beard. The hat is rubbish. It’s some cheap artificial fabric that barely fit my (admittedly large!) head.Package/contents of the package is only the cheap feeling belt, the robe and the absolutely dismal hat. Gandalf himself would be disgusted and the hobbits would have a great laugh at it.I had to buy a beard last minute and a wig also so the hat did not fit over the wig. Kept falling off my bewigged head.Very annoying.

First off, this is probably going to be the best review you could have from a customer. I had bought this costume to wear in a 12 mile Tough Mudder. When I had received the package the costume was a good fit, the material was a nice soft cotton feel, and fit just right and I am 6' 4". Surprisingly the costume held together the entire time nothing tore, ripped, or anything. Even after the race was over I washed it and the costume was still in great condition. Costume was great, had an awesome quality, and looked very much like Gandolf's outfit!

For a one-time use, this was an adequate costume. Not top quality, but not bottom of the barrel either. The hat is a very cheap felt and not a good fit. I ordered a better quality hat separately and it was worth it.

No one will know it's me! I LOVE it! It did not come with a sash but that's easy enough to remedy. The hat is a bit lightweight and flimsy but it works. The beard isn't as thick and beautiful as the picture but for the price I wasn't expecting it to be. It still works and will be great. I'll be carrying a football, wooden walking stick and wearing cleats. Fantasy football. This is just perfect!

Item gave me a terrible full body rash that lasted 3.5 days. Never have been more itchy and stressed in my life. Considered going to the ER, but just toughed it out. Thankfully it just cleared up after a while and a lot of anti-itch cream.If it did not give me a rash, would have given it 4 stars. It's cheap, but looks rather nice. Keeps you warm as well.So yeah, if you have sensitive skin, or are allergic to whatever they treated this polyester with, be warned. You too could get a full body rash.Note, this only gave me a rash at first on where I had skin contact with the robe. And only after a few hours of contact.Then when I put my clothing into the laundry which were worn with the robe, the fibers/chems from the robe mixed in the wash. This spread to all my clothing and when I wore them, full body rash happened a few hours later. Note, I did not put the robe into the wash since its handwash only. Still, the fibers are loose from this outfit, and spread amongst my other clothing while wearing said robe. Honestly still a bit worried to even touch my contaminated clothing, and its been a few weeks.So, 1/5 for terrible rash. If no rash, 4/5.
