OSTBA Meat Slicer, Two 7.5” Stainless Steel Blades, 200W DC Motor

I purchased this slicer just to cut my homemade bread and it is the best bread slicer I have ever bought!!! I can cut slices much thinner than I ever thought possible! This is a much better method for slicing bread than any knife I ever tried. Slow and steady is all you need to know and you will have a full loaf sliced in three minutes. It is lightweight, easy to move and the cups on the bottom hold it in place. When you lift it, if one stays stuck, just slide it off the counter to release. Of course you do need to keep it clean, which really does not take a lot. It is a breeze to disassemble, hand wash and dry and reassemble. So glad I found this OSTBA Bread Slicer. Who needs meat when you can have beautifully sliced homemade bread!!!

Getting raw pork or chicken sliced thin enough for hot pot or stir-fry has always been a frustrating process — half-freeze the meat, use your sharpest knife, try to keep the slices even, fail. I'd been thinking about getting a home slicer for probably two years. Finally pulled the trigger, it arrived May 20th. Taking it out of the box: heavier than I expected, which actually felt reassuring. It's got real mass to it — doesn't shift around on the counter when you're running meat through. The blades come pre-mounted, and there's not much setup between unboxing and actually slicing something.First use was pork belly for hot pot. Dialed down to about 2–3mm and ran half a pound through. Slices came out even, which genuinely never happens when I do it by hand. Since then I've used it probably 7 or 8 times — raw pork shoulder, chicken breast, beef for bulgogi, some cheese, a sourdough loaf once. Everything sliced cleanly without me having to fight it. The motor has real power behind it — you can feel it when cold raw meat hits the blade — and it doesn't slow down or strain the way I'd expected from a home appliance at this price. Thickness adjusts smoothly, slices land in the tray without bunching, and it's quieter than I expected. Not silent, but not disruptive either.The cleanup surprised me. I'd assumed something like this would be a production to wash, but the blade assembly and tray both detach and rinse under the sink in about 5–7 minutes if you do it right after slicing while everything is still fresh. That matters more than I realized — I actually use it regularly instead of leaving it in a cabinet.If you're planning to push serious volume through it quickly, just know the feed pusher and the rod mechanism are noticeably lighter plastic than the rest of the machine. The body and blade feel built to last; those parts feel like a cost cut. For normal home use — a pound or two per session, casual pace — I haven't had any issue. But I'm deliberate about not forcing it, and I wouldn't expect those parts to hold up under heavy semi-regular use.It now permanently occupies a chunk of counter space, and I'm completely fine with that. If half-freezing meat and fighting with a knife every time you want even slices is something you've just been living with, this fixes it. Anyway, it works. Really glad I finally got one.

Great product for the price. Slices through meats, etc. easily and is very easy to clean. The machine itself is metal and well made.I subtracted a star because the meat pusher (not sure the proper term) is poorly made. It is cheap plastic and could easily break.

I’m very impressed with this OSTBA Meat Slicer. The 200W DC motor runs surprisingly quiet while still providing plenty of power to slice meats, cheeses, and bread with ease. The adjustable thickness control is accurate and allows me to get everything from paper-thin deli slices to thicker cuts.The two stainless steel blades are sharp and durable, making food prep much faster than using a knife. I especially like how easy it is to disassemble and clean after use. The machine feels sturdy, stable, and safe on the countertop.If you enjoy making sandwiches, charcuterie boards, or preparing food in bulk, this slicer is a fantastic addition to the kitchen. It delivers professional-looking results and has exceeded my expectations.

Not a heavy duty slicer by any stretch but does what I bought it for perfectly. Roast beef, chicken (cooked or raw), onions, tomatoes, potatoes... all kinds of light-duty slicing. Hosted a party where we served 40+ people roast beef sandwiches and used this slicer to slice everything for the sandwiches for the beef to the fixins. Huge time saver. If you push too hard, you'll slow the blade but take your time and it does just fine.

Good for the price! Feels a little flimsy and can be a little difficult to clean fully but cuts pretty quick and is all metal other than the hand guard.

The machine comes with two different round blades. One serrated blade is designed for cutting frozen meat and other hard foods. The other smooth blade is ideal for slicing fruits, vegetables, and similar foods.Changing the blades is very simple — just push them in and twist to lock them into place. It’s very convenient and quick.The thickness can be freely adjusted up to 15 mm. The blades are very sharp and cut cleanly, smoothly, and efficiently.It also has a safety feature: you must push the safety lever first before the power switch can be pressed, which helps prevent accidental activation.Overall, it is an excellent machine.

I purchased this in advance of my need and didn’t use until after the return date. What is not in the information is you should only use the slicer for 5 minutes then allow to cool for 30 minutes. In those 35 minutes I can slice more than the machine without the excessive cleanup time. Evidently because of the Sleek Design, the motor is encased and overheats. The major use for me was to be vegetables and the main one, carrots which I started with. The instructions state to cut lengthwise. Who does that? But you would need to cut a carrot in half to do that. Cutting them into slices doesn’t work well unless cutting them very thin because the housing pushes the slice away from the blade but doesn’t allow the slice space so it breaks the slice in half. The only way to avoid that is to make the slices very thin or only use carrots under 3/4 inch in diameter. The thin cutting blade bends as it cuts so binds up. Clean up is difficult. Pulling off the blade I found many small pieces of carrot in the gears which took extra time to clean and was caused by the bending of the blade allowing pieces to get between the blade and housing. Based on the instructions, meats cannot be cut if frozen and if not firm it states to partially freeze. Basically if you want to make potato chips or slice some cheese thin, great but do it in under 5 minutes then be ready to spend much more time cleaning.Not sure what I am to do with this machine but save your money.

For 120$ I’m quite impressed. I switched to the smooth blade. I haven’t tried the serrated blade. It cut semi hard cured meat consistent thickness, I had it set to 1mm and it cut quite well.Getting paper thin slices was a bit more of a challenge but that can be user error. We tried moist cheese it worked well.I tried it and said if I didn’t like it I would return it. We are keeping this.The consthe blade is a bit of a challenge to put back on and get seated in the gears.all the gears are plastic. For occasional use it would likely be ok it’s not something I would use daily.The suction feet don’t work that well. But it was easy enough to hold and cut.Sometimes the meat gets jammed behind the blade. I had it happen a couple of times. A mild annoyance but it beats cutting with a knife.Cleaning can be a bit of chore. I wiped it down and used food grade sanitizer on all contact surfaces.
