What is the inner cover made of?

I’m not exactly sure but it does seem to be water resistant. I’d say some kind of plastic or vinyl material.

Is this product fire retardant?

No, it is not fire retardant. I just called the company for fire retardant information and they returned my call and stated that this was not fire retardant.

Would this be good for a 1/2 year old?

I would wait until they move a little better. It’s big and shifts when jumped on. My daughter was a year and a half when I purchased.

Is it possible to get a replacement inner cover? We absolutely love our crash pad and use it daily. Other inner cover ripped after lots of use

I don't know that the inner cover can be replaced but there is a replacement outer cover you can purchase. Are reading all of the reviews, when i purchased mine I went ahead and got the extra outer-cover anticipating the tearing of the innermost cover. There have been no issue with leaks and it is easy to maintain having the three layers.
