Love the hole for hanging this up
I leave this hanging up by the hole in it most of the time and take it down to use it in the tub when giving my dogs their baths so they don't slide around so much. This works great for that although it would be narrow for use as a shower mat for younger children in a regular bathtub. Better maybe for adults and older kids who can stand on the suctioned part as needed for stability. Young kids won't know better and may slide around, it would not prevent a slip and fall in a bathtub without paying attention to your footing, in my opinion. Very cute! Love that I can hang it up between uses.

Cute & Safe
This is an excellent mat to protect little ones from slipping. It's cute and bright so it appeals to them and helps occupy them so that they remain sitting. The suction cups stick very well and the size is perfect for a standard tub just as shown in the picture.I can see how mold can be a problem if you don't clean it, but just as you should clean your tub frequently, you should also clean the mat! It's as simple as unsticking it and wiping it down just as you do to your tub. Its common sense really I mean why wouldn't you do this?!?!We love this product!!!!!

I like it
It may be a little small but works for me and my baby. Anyone complaining of mold should start hanging it after use. It's easy to pull up... Air it out. It does stick to my tub, hasn't loosed when using but easy to get off when done. So cute!

Cute, colorful and less mess in our small bathroom
This mat first caught my eye because it was so cute and it looks even better than pictured. Vibrant and cheerful in our very small bathroom. We don't have space for much decorating in there so it is great when something can be fun and functional too. But my favorite thing about this mat is the hole in the tail. I pull this up when the kids are done, give it a quick rinse and hang it on a hook at the bottom of the bath caddy at the back of the enclosure where it can dry thoroughly on both sides before the next use. Much easier to keep clean than our old rectangular one which I would either leave in place all week and then have to scrub at for way to long to degunk or end up draping it over the edge of the tub where it was always in the way and dripped small puddles on the floor. I know those of you lucky enough to live near and Ikea store can probably find these things cheaper but I don't even live in the same state as one so this was a great deal for me.

Worth the $13 to me!
I would give a 5 star review, but after about a year in use now..some (not even 10%) of the suction cups pop up every once and awhile. But, we don't hang it to dry after use, we leave it suctioned to the tub. I have a standard tub that is flat bottomed (no texture), and it's a little too short and not wide enough to cover the full tub. As in, about 3 inches too narrow and 6 inches too short. But, our son doesn't slip around as much as he would without out. It's adorable, so that's a plus! I have yet to have any mold or mildew build up like the other reviewers. I try to keep my tub pretty clean, as I bathe my son 3 times a week and don't want him bathing in a dirty tub. I leave the mat down the entire time, we don't hang it to dry after baths and my hubby and I both shower once a day. So it gets its fill of being wet and not fully air drying. I do use a scrubby brush and some comet to clean the top of it about twice a week - about twice a month I detach and scrub the bottom.

Best tub mat you can buy!
This is my second Patrull Bathtub Mat. I was forced to give up the first one because of a mean family member. I am not a child, but this is both the most whimsical and practical bathtub mat I have ever seen. It has a gentle textured pattern on the top, reminiscent of abstract crocodile hide, and truly fierce suction cups all down the length of the back side. Nevertheless, it is easy for an adult to remove from the tub, and a quick rinse does the trick. I hope IKEA never stops selling this item.My joy in this product is helped because I love all things green, and I have been in love with alligators and crocodiles since my mother gave me The Cat in the Hat Beginner Book Dictionary with Aaron the Alligator a looooooooong time ago.Although I love to shower, this still brings a smile to my face every time I use it. Not many things in life can do that!Buy this and bring joy to your own life or to that of someone you love.

Adorable!
I love this little guy. I bought it because it's much more adorable than your average rectangle bath mat. It doesn't cover the whole bottom of my tub but it covers a good portion of the center, enough so that you don't slip walking from one side of the tub to the other (my shampoos and stuff are all on a shelf on the opposite end from the shower head so I wanted something that covered enough that I could safely move from one side of the tub to the other). This works great. I hang it up by the convenient hole in the tail after every use and haven't had any problems with residue yet. When you put it down in the tub you have to make sure to press (or step) on it to get it to stick. Once we just laid it down without pressing down and it slipped, but as long as you put a little bit of pressure on it to get the suction cups to stick it holds great. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase.

Too narrow so baby slips and falls!
Super cute. Good quality. Sticks well to our tub and no mold issues because we hang it after each use. Unfortunately, like other reviews have said, it's very narrow and thus doesn't cover the width of a standard tub. I didn't think it would be a big deal so purchased it anyways only to find my little one keeps slipping and face planting in the tub because his foot isn't on the mat! If they just made the alligator a bit fatter so it would cover more of the tub, this would be a keeper. Sadly, I need to now purchase a different mat because my heart breaks watching my baby slip and fall during bath time, which he loves so much.
