I've tried just about every name brand laptop in this category (gaming laptops) and this was the only one (Alienware) that I did not try. The reason I didn't try was because of all the not-so-great reviews and how the cons were just simply not 'acceptable' for 2024. After much trial and tribulation, I figured I had nothing left to lose except to not try this brand. Well low and behold! This laptop was PERFECT for me! I wanted a portable AND capable Beast and this fit the bill PERFECTLY! It maybe a little chunky for people who don't eat meat or work out, but for me it was a very acceptable compromise for what I was looking for in a laptop (a consistent gaming experience whether at home or abroad). It plays all my games at max settings without any problems at all. Others I've had always ended up throttling themselves (despite being 'higher spec'd' than this one) and either stuttered or over-heated to the point it would lock up or shut down. This laptop might get a little 'loud' but it never over heats, never shuts down, and to my surprise, never throttled, not even once. I bought a laptop backpack for this laptop here in Amazon (just look up backpacks for 18.4" laptops). It works PERFECTLY for my needs. Tech Support is practically built right into this machine too. Most questions I had about anything was easily found with the included software packages. I have no regrets with this purchase and can easily recommend this to people who want a great laptop and a Beast without all the marketing and fluff (and failures) of the other 'Top Tier' or 'Higher Spec'd' laptops out there (looking at you ASUS and LENOVO). Oh wait, I do have one regret, and it's that I didn't get this sooner and let my own bias and the bias of other laptop 'Professional Reviewers' sway me away from this brand early on during my searches for the PERFECT laptop for ME.

Je suis très satisfait de cet ordinateur portable. Le m18 R2 offre d’excellentes performances, particulièrement pour les jeux exigeants. L’écran de 18 pouces est impressionnant et procure une expérience beaucoup plus immersive qu’un portable de format plus classique. La qualité de fabrication est également au rendez-vous. Le clavier est agréable, la machine semble robuste et le système de refroidissement fait un bon travail pour maintenir les performances lorsque l’ordinateur est fortement sollicité. J’apprécie aussi son design typiquement Alienware, qui lui donne beaucoup de caractère. Petit point négatif : son format est assez imposant et son poids se fait sentir, ce qui le rend moins pratique à transporter régulièrement. L’autonomie est également plutôt limitée lorsqu’on utilise toute sa puissance. Malgré cela, c’est un excellent portable de jeu, puissant et très bien équipé, particulièrement intéressant pour ceux qui privilégient les performances et la qualité d’affichage plutôt que la mobilité.

This is a fast and reliable laptop that boots up very quickly and has quite a few customizable features. While it take a while to get it set up and registered, I am very happy with this unit and it meets - and possibly exceeds - what you would expect from a desktop computer. I would suggest though that you purchase a cooling system when you purchase it, as it tends to runs bit warm under load. The display is sharp and crisp with capabilities that easily rival any other gaming system. While a bit on the pricey side, it is well worth the cost. If you are considering a high-end laptop, this one should certainly be at or near the top of the list.

Absolute beast, runs games better than my Desktop with 10900k and RTX3090 (granted the pc is running a ultrawide 3440×1440p OLED), 40 series gpu aint no joke. Max fps running CB2077 at 2k res with high/ max settings no raytracing, DLSS 4 does wonders and doesnt sacrifice clarity. I have had mine for about 6 months now i think, works great 0 issues. I have had a ton of dells now over the past few years and all work great. Dell also provides great support within the 1yr warranty if you do have issues. Im not a huge fan of the 16:10 aspect ratio screen for gaming but i use the laptop to work from bed some mornings and the numpad/ extra screen height real estate is welcome for split screen work. Got mine for 3k on sale from 4k and it really provides amazing performance for a laptop at that price point. Paid 2400 for a M15 with an RTX 3070 that doesnt even compare to this one. Fans arent too loud and it can game quietly without getting super hot, but i dont like to possibly cook an expensive laptop so i just run the performance preset. Good port selection as well. Literally no complaints, wait for sale and buy or wait for sale on a 5080 and you wont look back.
