How do you stop the powder residue from the ground coffee you through the filter into the cold brew? Just got this yesterday!

Hi, sorry I cannot help. My Coffee Gator arrived in its box with no wrapping. The handle was broken and so I had o return it. I was watching to see if it was worth trying to get another but worried the other may be damaged too!
