Great for traveling
They work great. We use them when we go on car cruises so the first car and the last can communicate.

These survive my 10 year old son and a creek.
We have a large creek about 250 yards behind our house. My 10 year old son is an avid angler. Yelling into the woods to check on him isn't convenient, and I want him to be able to get me quickly if he needs me. My son is hard on everything, because he's a normal 10 year old. I bought these because the price was right and they got good reviews. Looked like they will work for our purposes. After about a month and a half of 3-5x/week use, I would recommend them to anyone. The second week we had them, the reception got spotty after he'd been out about 3 hours. When he came in that night, his walkie talkie was wet. I asked him what happened. My dear son turned on the light at the top and stuck his walkie talkie into the creek to get a better look at some live bait. <facepalm>. That's when it got spotty. He thought they were waterproof. I explained to him that they were not. He understood and agreed to not do it again ...if they even worked the next day. After a night of drying out and re-charging, they worked good as new.Three days ago, he came in and let me know that his walkie talkie had accidentally fallen in the creek and it took "about 14 seconds" to get it out with his net. This time it was fully submerged in water. He said he turned it off immediately when he got it out (as I had taught him last time around). I was sure this was the end of the walkie talkie. I let it dry out overnight. Next day, to my surprise, it worked... though it wasn't getting the channel numbers right. I took the battery off and let it dry some more, then put it on the charger last night, assuming it would probably be in the trash today. Low and behold, that walkie talkie works good as new again. I'm sort of amazed that these things keep going after being dunked in the creek like this. All of that to say, once my son actually kills these things, I'll be buying the exact same ones again next time.-Happy Mom.

I am impressed by these little radios. Great price, Good product
These are simple to use but effective radios.Clear report and that is at most volume levels.Small in size so easy to carry and weigh almost nothing.Again, simple features. Not complicated to operate, so almost anyone can use these. They are perfect for our purposes. With a fairly long range. Box says 16 miles. Although we have not pushed the limits of range, they are very effective through all of the obstacles in our studios. Several hundreds of feet of brick walls, multiple large machines and tons of wifi based printing and operating systems. No issues at all. Still loud and clear. They do not seem to interfere with any equipment already in place. The radios themselves have no digital display, but each channel is announced by it's own little voice. So you always do know what channel you are set to.They are quite loud when you need them to be, but they are clear at higher volumes. We have not used the headsets due to other systems that we do use. They have belt clips as well as wrist straps, so plenty of effective ways to attach them to ones self. Not to many dropped radios at this point, but durability doesn't seem to be an issue. They are 5 volt usb charged. Kinda nice not having to find a dedicated wall plug for each radio stand. You can use your phone charger as long as its 5 volt. Perfect integration to stuff we all have on our desks.Makes communication easier in the large cavernous shop that we have. No more cell phones that we carry around...sometimes. plus it looks dedicated to the offices, not a personal item. The real benefit for me is I no longer have employees leaving a client alone to chase down someone, something, or to ask for assistance. If I was a better leader, I would have done this years ago.Over all, they work great, not too complicated, small and do not require the knowledge of HAMM radio to use.Cannot beat the price that's for sure. Very inexpensive for what you get. Boils down to about 12 to 15 bucks a radio.Hopefully they will last and stand the test of my staff. No promises there.I do know that this type of radio will be standard issue here from now on. It really helps us serve our clientele more effectively and there is no longer a reason to leave individuals alone in a waiting room while you search for help or equipment. We have only used a very very short time, but they have made a very large impact very quickly. Hopefully this will continue and they will hold up to the abuse.Good product, great price. Will certainly purchase again and will probably use the same brand, but maybe upgrade. We shall see.Shipping was almost ridiculously fast. I wasn't expecting for at least a week. Well that what Amazon had said...had them the very next day. Was able to put them right to work. Yay.

Shocking!
My wife and I own a small 25 acre farm and after getting my grandson a set (another brand) and realizing how clear the sound was I thought two ways would be a great way to stay in touch while I'm out working and she's still in the house. I choose these based on the claimed range and the fact that they are rechargeable. I am impressed. Contrary to what other's have said these feel very durable, not like cheap toys. They come with earbuds that have a control on the line which allows you to communicate while having the radio attached to your pocket or belt. Also comes with a very sturdy belt clip designed in a manner that would keep it from slipping off your belt when your stooping or moving about. You will have to install the battery which simply clips on the back, The antenna which screws into the top very easily, and the belt clip which requires the removal of two small screws in the back. None of these require any special skills beyond common sense. Now for the good stuff. I left on with my wife in the house an took a walk to the other side of the farm and the reception was so clear it was almost like sitting in the house with her. Absolutely no static. I had no concerns at that point that these would allow us to communicate anywhere we were on the farm. Also making this even more amazing to me is the fact that our property is heavily wooded. The next day my wife was driving to our daughter-in-law's to pick up one of our grandsons. We already had our second grandson at our home. I asked him to ride along with grandma and take one of the radios along. Now keep in mind this is a heavily treed area. I was quite shocked to discover that these radios reached over two miles before any breakup at all. I would certainly buy again.
