There is no such thing as 'pre swrd'!! If you mean 'Standing Wave Ratio' (SWR) this is a measurement of impedance matching of loads to the characteristic impedance of a transmission line.  Impedance mismatches result in standing waves along the transmission line, and SWR is defined as the ratio of the partial standing wave's amplitude at an antinode (maximum) to the amplitude at a node (minimum) along the line. For a radio (transmitter or receiver) to deliver maximum power to an antenna, the impedance of the radio and transmission line must be well matched to the antenna's impedance. The parameter VSWR is a measure that numerically describes how well the antenna impedance matched to the radio or transmission line it is connected to.  Simply put, the relationship between VSWR and an antenna is based on whether the antenna is resonant to the frequency of operation, which determines the VSWR or reflected power loss. For your information, although the Antron is 'tuned' to the 11 metre band, it is basically 'resonant' on 17m, 12m & 10m and works extremely well with a low angle of radiation which is suited to long distance DX. By using an Antenna Tuner (ATU), it radiates (and receives) well on 15m. The Antron does not require any modification and works as mentioned straight out of the box. Best height to mount is a minimum 10m from the base of the antenna. Suggest sourcing stainless steel U-bolts & clamps, because the ones supplied rust quickly.Hope that answers your question!

Didn't you mean to say, Do I need a groundplane for the Antron 99?"The answer is NO. Groundplane or radials are not required. It works fine as it is. If you have an amateur licence it works great on 17m/15m/12m/10m
