I bought this cord to use with my Champion 6250 inverter generator. The 110 GFCI outlets kept tripping when I plugged in refrigerator. The solution was to purchase a L14-30 cord with a splitter and bypass the built in GFCI. The cord appears to be solidly built but I can’t speak for the durability just yet. I’m sure I’ll get to test it out real soon as I live in Northern CA where we frequently lose power either by planned public safety outages, planned outages for equipment “upgrades”, or unplanned outages (3 times in the last 2 weeks). This cord was the best price I could find. The Champion branded cord was more expensive and was only a couple feet long. I like that this cord is flat rather than round as I always have the cord running though a window. This will allow me to close the window even more. Will update my review after some test runs. A couple days after my initial review.... another PG&E power outage due to high temperatures and excessive demand for electricity. I got to test this cord out and it worked perfectly.

I bought this to go with my 6500 Watt generator. I have had 3 opportunities in the past year to use it as I live in the mountains. I would give it a 5 star but one of the plugs sparks when I plug in an extension cord so that plug is unusable. Other than that it has made it so much easier to run heavy gauged extension cords for running the fridge and a power strip for computer, cell charger, tablet charger and one light etc. I have not needed to plug in a heater as I have a wood stove for heat. I am using gas, as opposed to the optional propane, and one 5 gallon fill up runs for a good 9-11 hours and the cord has had no problems with heating up or failure.

This cord worked well with our emergency generator and helped us get through the power cut with a lot less trouble than the last one! The L14P plug is wired so that 2-120V outlets are connected to each side of the 240V plug, with the neutral bussed to all 4 outlets. The flat cord is very nice, less of a tripping hazard when it's snaking across the floor.

Worked perfectly. It did not overheat or fail to power a device. I would not recommend overloading it, and separate heavier appliances from it (Freezer, Fridge, etc.), but would power lights, laptops, TV, chargers, etc.

This cord for our generator is a great heavy duty product. It is made very well and works wonderfully for what we need. I recommend this for your generator use as well.
