I got the 5000 for bass and catfish. It casts really well, reels smooth and was hefty enough to easily haul in a 9lb striped bass. Great company to deal with, this isn't the first reel I've bought from them and I will probably never use another brand.

Thought these where made in Japan. Came in and there not bad for the price. Little stiff as China does not lube hardly anything. After some Spartan oil on all the bearings and it smooth everything out. Good drag and I like the bearings in the handle and roller. We’ll see how they hold up. I would recommend this for the money. Just oil em up when you get them.

I discovered these reels a year ago and when I saw them on sale at 50% off I had to buy two more. They're a little stiff out of the box but after oiling they perform like much higher quality reels. Highly recommend!!! Recently Used the 1000 reel for bedding smallmouth in Wisconsin and it performed flawlessly the entire week.

Love the design, the reel is light weight and spinning is smooth as silk. One of the best spinning reels I’ve encountered!

Out the box it seems really solid and smooth, it spooled right up nicely. Bought this to replace my old shimano I'll be using it this week to test it out and then fishing a bass tournament the end of the month with it.
