Can this vcr record over the air analog channels received from an hdtv antenna?

Yes, however, I use a channel converter box and put the TV on channel 3. I can tape a show thru the box and watch another show on the hdtv, using a digital antenna attached to both with a splitter.

I am looking for a way to play old vhs exercize tapes using my laptop. what connectors do i need? do i need a digital converter?
