Q: This states it is a right-handed interior lever but the photo has the lever pointing left. Will it install with the lever pointed left as pictured?

Yes, it is meant to install with the lever pointing left, as shown. It can be installed pointing right but with the convex side down and the tip pointing to the top left corner of the door. Most people don't care or even notice. But the 'correct' way is as shown. The handle is a solid single piece and does not permit a mirror-image install of what is shown.

Q: Is the indoor mechanism for the bright brass the lever pictured or actually the knob?

It can be ordered either way. I ordered it with the knob, but originally viewed it with the lever.

Q: What is distance between bottom bolt on outside handle and the latch?

I think this is what you are looking for. 8.5 ~ 9in the bottom bolt slides so there is some variance. https://www.schlage.com/en/home/products/FE285CAMFFFGEO.html It comes with a cut out template that you can place on the door. Look at the "How to Center" -> "Installation Instructions".

No, there is no lock on the handle.
