Luxurious gold paint
Lovely acrylic gold paint, having such fun giving, picture frames a facelift, gold dish refreshed together with placemats. Tomorrow going to paint a faded mirror with the gold, the an old wooden chair making it fit for a princess. Had to order another pot.

Great quality versatile paint with high sheen
I've been using this paint for a while now and I'm really happy with it. The pigment is impressive, with great coverage on lots of different surfaces. I've just it on paper, fabric, unglazed ceramics, wax and wood, all with great results. It hasn't flaked off any of the surfaces I've used it on, and that is without priming or sealing. I love that this paint is non toxic. It's also fairly easy to clean up with soap and water as long as you get it before it's fully dried. It's a lovely thick consistency as you can see in my video. I've also tried watering it down which is fine, but I'm not sure it will have the same longevity as the wrong water to paint ratio can chance the bond. The colour is a really rich yellow-gold, with a strong sheen.

Beautiful gold paint
I used another gold paint from a pound store to paint my white wall clock which turned out not gold and looking like I'd cut the clock out from a cardboard box. I bought this hoping I could fix it and it's certainly done the job and looks so much nicer. When I first received this paint I thought the tub it came in was tiny, especially for the price I paid for it and it wasn't going to get me anywhere but I've painted a whole large wall clock and a fruit bowl and it's still a full little tub! The coverage is amazing and it's a really lovely gold, just what I needed. The paint was easy to apply and dries quickly to a lovely finish.

Difficult to mix and very thin
The gold paint was extremely difficult to mix to an even consistency using a stirring stick, however, vigorously shaking the pot did help but not perfect. Applied to sealed walnut engraving with two coats, results were disappointing with lots of patchy areas.

I wanted a bright shiny/metallic gold paint and this is everything I wanted it to be. I ordered two containers and I have painted baseboards, doorframes, trim on cabinet doors, metal curtain hooks, metal wall plague, all so beautiful. When painting you have to get use to the paint - it is not like enamel... so you have to work with it and it will inturn work for you. You do have to apply it with a little more on your brush and not spread it too thin or you will see streaking. Patience is key so take your time. It didn't take too long for me to figure this out. The first coat was definitely not enough but I let it dry and applied a second coat and in some instances a third coat but even after the first coat dried the brilliance was there. After the second coat it was absolutely gorgeous. Will be ordering more.

I am a big fan of this product but if you’re going to buy it there are a few things you need to know. The first batch I bought I noticed it would not clean up in water but it would clean up in paint thinner, which means it was an oil-based product. That did not bother me because I was extremely impressed by how close it looked too real silver. The last batch I bought would not clean up in paint thinner but cleans up in water telling me it’s a water-based product which it is advertised as. When you apply the water-based product it is a bluish gray colored not silver but does dry silver color. It still looks nice but it is not as shiny as the oil-based product. I would like to get a hold of the manufacturer (Vgseba) but there is no email address or regular address anywhere on the Internet. Also, I strongly recommend in investing in a spray gun, you can get a good one for $30 on Amazon and you will notice a very big difference using it rather than a brush. The finish is a lot smoother and does a better job of imitating real silver, but will consume more of the paint. I purchased the product because I am a novice with silver inlaying and was not satisfied with my results but I am quite happy with this product meeting all my expectations in more. I also wish it would come in larger sizes. If you’re looking for a product that imitates real silver I believe you will be satisfied with this product. If the distributor or any other party that could reach the manufacturer. I would like to tell them about their product. There seems to be a dislike for the water-based version and because I’ve had both I can verify that the oil-based version is a lot better product and will produce more satisfied customers.

I used this gilding paint set to personalize several Ancient Egyptian-style decor pieces in my bedroom suite, including an Anubis box and a ceremonial dagger. The gold foil paint applied smoothly and dried to a rich, lustrous finish. I then sealed it with a water-based varnish, which enhanced the shine and gave the pieces a polished, radiant look. The transformation was remarkable—what began as intriguing accents became truly breathtaking statement pieces. Even the small hieroglyphic details became more legible after gilding, likely due to the improved light diffusion across the gilded surface and into the carved recesses. I highly recommend this set for anyone seeking to bring a touch of opulence or timeless splendor to their decor. It's an accessible way to achieve striking decor item presence at home.
