I have a 13 year old 410a system that developed a "2wk" Evap leak at the beginning of the 88 - 95 degree weather so desperately I bought this with no real expectations to hopefully try and hold off for another month at least while I figure out the best way of purchasing a new system. Its been 4 months & multiple 3 digit days here in the south & all of our Gauge Readings have held up as well as Delta T & the Superheat recommended by the manufacturer....I'm VERY impressed & I honestly, in the beginning, felt like this would end up being more "snake oil". I'm a certified Universal 608 holder but I am an AMATEUR. I've heard claims of long term negative affects & even that its "idiotic" to use this in the first place. I couldn't verify any of that in this review because my experience in HVAC doesn't hold as much knowledge as a long time professional but I can say that in a very difficult financial situation this really worked for me and my family.

Excellent Product – Easy to Use and Effective. I’m an HVAC technician and this product worked exactly as expected. Easy to inject, no issues during installation, and it helped seal a small refrigerant leak quickly. It saved time and avoided a costly repair for the customer. I would definitely buy it again and recommend it to other HVAC professionals.

The reviews I read before purchasing this can be pretty scary if you're the average homeowner. Some say the compressor failed as a result. That is because this type of product is designed to be a liquid that flows with the refrigerant until it meets with oxygen and moisture. These conditions should only be met in the crack where the refrigerant leak is, but can also happen if technicians that have worked on your system did not purge their hoses or if the leak is on the suction (low pressure) side of the refrigerant circuit and the refrigerant level was very low. That being said, if you use this yourself, be sure to do 2 things. 1) Be sure to purge the hose with refrigerant before letting the product into the suction service port. 2) MOST IMPORTANTLY --- before you even open the package, buy and install a drying agent a few days before installing this product. Also, do this during the cooling months so that the drying agent has a chance to circulate and mix evenly throughout the system. That will remove any moisture from your refrigerant and greatly reduce the risk of your compressor failing after the installation. This seller also sells the drying agent which is the one I bought. Using a product like this is always a risk which is why it should only be done as a last ditch effort to keep an old leaky but efficient system running. Your compressor may die by using this and that's not this manufacturers fault. I just used this on my own house and it still runs. ALSO, this may not stop the leak if it is a very large leak. It works best on systems that have to have 1-3 pounds a year added. My leak was faster and I think it slowed the leak down but I haven't verified with a legitimate leak check yet. I'll check again in the spring. It takes a year to really know if it worked. My leak is in my evaporator coil which is the most common place for any brand of cooling system. So far I am satisfied with this product. I am curious to check and see how much refrigerant is needed this spring and if it worked or not. I'll try and update this review. A last thought is that I don't thing the UV dye in this kit works very well or at all but the sealing agent might work. Again I'll try and update later.

I had a leaking dehumidifier and was looking at close to $2-3000 replacement bill. So I bought this figuring if it works, great, if not, it was worth a shot. As it turned out, it did not work for me and seemed to seize or at least make the compressor work much harder to start. The compressor overheated and would not start, so that was the end of it. I'd do it again, if I needed to, because to me, it's just worth the chance it will work, as it apparently has for many other folks. Perhaps I should have used the smallest size instead of standard, but I'll never know now. Before I bought I read some reports that said it worked and some said it destroyed the equipment. It was easy to install, so go for it if it's your last resort.

I'd been trying to locate a small Freon leak with soap sprays, oil residue searches, & Freon sniffers on the 7-year old split unit heat pump in my shop. It would run for 4 to 5 months of cooling & heating, then suddenly shut down with low pressure indicated. It tended to run longer cooling than when heating. I was leary of stop-leak products in general because of bad experiences in car systems; the stuff plugged up everything (like thermostats) as well as the intended target. The R-410A systems run at very high pressures compared to old R-22 systems so I expected to find a fitting not quite tight enough to hold the refrigerant. No luck. I viewed the clear tubing holding the stop leak & UV dye with suspicion--didn't look strong enough to hold the high pressure. The connectors fit perfectly (I already had the adapter on the low-pressure line needed to connect the low-pressure hose); they were just like an extension of the charging hose. I decided to do the injection & recharge in one go. I set up liquid injection into the low-pressure line to make sure the contents were diluted promptly. When I opened the tank charging valve the yellow fluid in the clear tubing vanished immediately followed by boiling R-410A. I watched while the scales moved smoothly up to the 68.8 oz charging spec with the system running on cooling. Everything worked fine for about an hour then the system shut down. Turned out there was more residual R-410A than I expected & the system stopped (high pressure cutoff) when the fluid temperature came up to the 100 deg F outside temperature. I decided to let the system pressure equalize--give the leak a chance to expel some of the stop leak fluid. Air & moisture was suppose to cause it to harden & plug the leak. Sure enough, the next day the AC came on & the air coming out of the evaporator was a chilly 50 deg F. It has worked great both as a heat pump & AC since then. I haven't tried to located my UV light to see if any dye escaped. I expect that will be easier to find if significant R-410A escapes in a few months. Follow the instructions; I recommend this for small leaks--don't waste R-410A (or any other refrigerants) trying to plug large leaks. The dye-only version is probably your best approach in that case.

Easy to load with manifold gauge set. Unit ran for over 60 minutes-checked for leaks, no dye visible in condenser, compressor lines, hi/low ports, line set or the A coil which was opened up for inspection. After several hours no cooling and low side pressure was 50 and hi side 150. So, did not seal a thing and did not indicate any visible leaks - total failure!

I injected this into the heat pump and ran it a few days, but the refrigerant went empty. I pulled unit apart and found leak. It was pretty big. I ended up just brazing the whole shut. Sensor clamp rubbed a hole in the lineset. Everything good now. I have used these in the past, and they have worked. I do hvac for a living.

it didn't worked, I used this product in my Skoda Superb, 1.8 TSI car AC , in which the AC gas leaks in 22 to 24 days , but after using this product nothing changed. now also the gas leaked in 22 days

Recommend it with every top-up to slow down or eliminate leaks. This is for people who are tapped out financial and need to get through the season. Not sure how good it is for long term leak repairs, haven’t been using it that long. Get the one with UV in case you have to go back and check for leaks.
