Potaroma Hide and Seek Interactive Cat Toys

My cats instantly loved this product! It worked right out of the box without having to charge it. It has three modes and is touch activated. Makes an animal sound, but not all the time and almost sounds like it's laughing at them. The feather wand locks into place and it comes with an extra wand. They keep playing even after I turn it off. It is worth the price because they love hide and seek!

Our cats are obsessed with this toy, and it’s a big improvement over the similar “Cat’s Meow” toy we used to have (and which they enjoyed just as much). Here’s what makes this better: - This one has a built in rechargeable battery. The other toy went through lots of batteries; we eventually got rechargeable ones, but constantly removing, recharging, and reinserting them was a hassle. - The cats can start it by just touching it (but you can turn it fully off to disable this). The other toy required pressing a button which our cats never figured out (to be fair not everyone would consider this an advantage). - The rounded smooth bottom makes it easier to slide around (once again not everybody will think this is better, but I do). - It makes a squeaky mouse noise; our cats don’t seem to care but others might. It’s not super loud or annoying and it doesn’t make the noise constantly, and it’s easy to mute: just press the middle button twice quickly (do that again to unmute). - The manufacturer sells replacement feather wands. With the other toy we had to get knock offs which often didn’t fit correctly. Quality-wise, I haven’t had it long enough to say if it’s more durable than “Cat’s Meow”; it certainly looks and feels well made. The other toy we had to constantly replace - each one wore out after 6-9 months, and once we got one that didn’t even last a day. The only downside is that the feather wand moves so fast, that even though it gets our cats attention, they haven’t tried to pounce on it (but they’re 13 years old). I expected that the toy's different modes would have different wand speeds, but the wand always moves at the same high speed. Plus the user guide sucks - but here’s what I figured out: 1. Press the middle button to power on and start in “normal” mode (blue light). The toy will run for 5 minutes, then go to standby. If it’s touched while in standby, it’ll run for another 5 minutes, then go back to standby, etc. 2. Press the button again for “active” mode (purple light). This seemed to be exactly the same as normal mode, so I emailed support. They replied the same day and said the wand moves faster... but I didn't notice any difference, it was just as fast as the other modes. 3. Press the button again for “interactive” mode (yellow light). This is like the other modes except the toy will run for only 30 seconds before going to standby - and according to support, the wand speed in this mode is supposed to change between faster and slower, but in reality it was always fast. 4. Press the button again to power off (red light flashes twice). (BTW Their support agreed that there’s not enough speed difference between the modes, and said they’ll work on improving this in future versions of the toy). The toy comes with a confusing user guide, two feather+string wands, and a charging cable (but you need to provide your own USB type A charger, that’s the older type with the larger rectangular connector). Other than the lack of different wand speeds, I think this cat toy is perfect, and time will tell if it holds up. I hope it lasts - but even if it conks out, I’ll definitely get another one!

After reading the reviews, I decided that it would be a good present for my three grand-kitties. I usually buy a few different toys, trying to encourage play for all 3 cats. Which is always a hit and miss. This cat toy is a WIN! I'm not sure what it is about this toy, but all three of my grand-kitties love it! This hide-and-seek cat toy is designed with a feather & string, which is hidden under a cloth cover. The wand is fast spinning. The feathered string begins to appear and disappear constantly. The cat toy is touch-activated. It is a bit noisy. I would recommend a family space for this toy, as it sometimes goes off randomly. This toy has 3 speed modes (slow, fast, and interactive) to meet different cats' needs. It is easy to change the speed by pressing the button on top. The feather will run for 5 minutes, then stop. Cats can reactivate the toy with a light touch. Gives my grand-kitties exercise and entertainment and helps them burn off excess energy. Great idea for indoor cats. This interactive self-play toy gives my grand-kitties a great way to provide mental and physical stimulation. It also promotes exercise and relieves boredom and loneliness. This cat toy is USB rechargeable. It's easy to charge. Lift the gray power button on top to charge the toy. A USB cable is included in the package, but not a plug. Also included is an extra string toy. I did not have to assemble the toy. I just inserted the feather stick and charged it. I would definitely recommend it as a cat toy for all cats! Perfect as a Christmas gift!

I'm essentially the neighborhood cat lady and have purchased MANY different cat toys over the years. I have never found another toy that all 5 of my indoor cats, as well as the ferals I feed outside, absolutely love. My cats have gotten bored of most of the interactive cat toys I have bought after a while, and typically there are a couple cats who aren't very interested in the toy from the beginning, but they all crowded around this toy as soon as I turned it on and still remain interested nearly two years later. When we first got it, one of my cats became so enthralled that he would drag it around the house with him. He even yanked it off the charger once and carried it off. I actually started to wonder if I should be concerned because he was acting a little obsessed, but he eventually chilled out. I am on my second one of these toys now. The first one still worked just fine, but the cats played with it so much, puncturing it with their claws, that it was starting to look a bit bedraggled. The USB charge on the toy lasts quite a long time. It has multiple different speeds and there is a squeaking noise that drives my husband a little crazy, but you can turn that off by pressing the top button twice quickly. Anyway, I really cannot imagine anyone being disappointed with this product and it comes with extra attachments in case your cats are hard on toys like mine.

I don’t usually leave reviews unless it’s really good or really bad. Happy to say that my cats of all ages LOVE this toy. Works for a long time between charges and interests them all. Very happy with this!

Update: weeks later and my cat still loves playing with this! And a single charge has lasted weeks with it left turned on to work for 5 minutes, then work again when touched or there's motion near it. The fabric still looks like new too. Original review: My cat LOVED this from the moment I set it down!! She's 9 and I adopted her a few weeks ago. I could tell she was needing some more stimulating toys and decided on this. I thought it could work since she pounces on my feet when I move them under the covers, but you never know how pets will like new toys. The size is perfect! I set it to run for 30 seconds, then auto-start when touched (the other setting runs for 5 minutes, then auto-starts. There's another setting, but the manual says the exact same thing for it as the 5 minute setting, so I'm not sure what it really does). Easy set up and the sound doesn't annoy me and doesn't make it hard to still watch tv. I had to cut the string off the moving part because my cat likes to swallow stringy things and she already had it all in her mouth before I did (I gave it a chance to see what would happen). She's been going at it hard and the cover seems very durable. She likes the variety of motion too. So far, it's a definite win!!

As a foster fail with three cats, I'm always looking for toys that actually keep everyone's attention—and this one has been a huge hit! This is one of the few toys that keeps all three of my cats entertained for hours. They take turns chasing the hidden feather, pouncing, waiting for it to pop back out, and then doing it all over again. It's so much fun to watch, and it gives them great exercise while satisfying their natural hunting instincts. I love that it's automatic because I don't have to sit there waving a wand toy around. I can turn it on and let them entertain themselves while I get things done around the house. If your cats get bored easily or have endless energy, I highly recommend this toy. It has definitely been one of the best purchases I've made for my three little troublemakers, and they still get excited every time I turn it on!

I'm going to give this 4 stars~ why? I'm a real person and when I look at items I look at the 4 and lower stars to see complaints/legit reviews. With all that said I would give this item 4.5/5* in total. The item: This toy is AMAZING we have had it for a few years now and paused to review it so that we knew how long it will last. It's lasted WONDERFULLY I cannot express how much enjoyment our fur kids have gotten out of this item. We had 1 issue with the feather toy that came with it but the company replaced it immediately when this was brought up! Our youngest fur kid enjoyed it from kitten hood to adult (about age 2), our middle which is 4, and our oldest which I believe is 14 (time is nebulous folks) all play with it which then triggers play with each other. The noise isnt bad at all and as one who is sensitive to sound/is migraine prone this was important. The fact that it is motion sensitive is also helpful because it's not making mouse sounds all the time it's only when the cat interacts with it! There is a variety in the string types that come with it but our fur kids just enjoyed the string part. There are also different settings for different speeds, so even if you have a kitty that loses attention fast it's bound to catch their attention again~ bonus when they interact with it you can also give them a small treat as if they succeeded in a hunt for enrichment, though that would be something one would have to manually do. The size is perfect! All of our kids have played with it and we haven't had ANY issues what so ever! We have had them dive for it, pounce, slide across the floor (this is a thing for tile some space is recommended), and get zoomies after interacting with this item. This item is incredibly durable and no claws have wrecked it up to this point (we trim nails, but they have also chewed on it some which it holds up). The level of enrichment this item provides is top tier and we will be getting another in the future! As one who has worked in animal medicine I could absolutely recommend this item, just be weary if you use the feather is my only critique. That said I have yet to observe the same stress induced behavior that a laser beam toy can give, so I would say this automatic toy even goes beyond that. I wish we didn't live in a world of paid ratings so I could give full stars, but it is what it is. I say purchase it and discover how it works in your home; in ours it has made a huge difference and has additionally added an outlet so that our youngest doesn't constantly harass the others.

El mecanismo con plumas ocultas que aparecen y desaparecen capta mucho su atención, y el sonido tipo ratón hace que se lance a cazar enseguida. Funciona por activación al toque, así que el propio gato puede iniciarlo cuando pasa cerca, lo cual es muy práctico. Además, al ser recargable por USB no hay que estar cambiando pilas constantemente. La cubierta floral es resistente y tiene buena estabilidad en el suelo durante el juego. Me gusta que ofrece distintos patrones de movimiento, porque así no se aburre y hace más ejercicio. En general, un juguete interactivo muy entretenido, ideal para estimular el instinto cazador y ayudar a que el gato queme energía dentro de casa. Muy recomendable.

After the first use, they were crying when we put it away. We researched it and decided that they should not play with it for longer than 10 minutes at a time because it is too intense. We wanted to avoid aggression from not being able to catch the prey. We make sure that they are observed while they are playing, and that it can stay with them for a few minutes when it’s switched off, allowing them to “catch” it. After that, it “goes to sleep” in a cabinet because we don’t trust anything without supervision, that can wrap around them. We combine it with a puzzle feeder so that they can have an actual prey-like experience. They literally ask for this toy. It was a very good purchase, we are all happy with it.

This has been one of the best interactive toys I’ve bought - and I've bought a lot. My kitten was 11 weeks old when I bought this and loved it immediately, and he still does now. Even my older cat, who’s usually a bit wary of interactive toys, enjoys it. Pros: - Both my kitten and adult cat love any toy with a concealed element so the way the feather hides and suddenly jumps out again keeps them very well entertained. - It seems more tactile than other hard plastic types which means they are able to play with it, rather than just look at it or swipe at it. - It seems very durable. My bigger cat is quite rough with toys and this has held up well. - Battery life has also been excellent - I keep it on auto mode and have only charged it about once a month over the last three months. This is so unusual for interactive toys. - It packs away quite small, which is helpful if you rotate toys to keep things interesting. - It has a no-squeak option. Cons: - It’s fairly lightweight, so my bigger cat sometimes bats it across the floor. - The settings are controlled by one button using a colour system, which I don’t find very intuitive - I still end up checking the manual. - The bell can be a bit annoying too (though you could remove it if you wanted, I kept it on because my kitten loves bells). If you leave it on auto mode, they can trigger it at night (I live in a flat and can hear it sometimes) so you may want to adjust the settings if that would bother you. Overall, I’m very pleased with this toy and would definitely recommend it. What’s impressed me most is that they’ve stayed interested in this toy for months, which is rare in my house (most toys get ignored after a week). Easy 5 stars from Parsley, Dumpling and I.
